Treating altcoins in the manner gambling should be treated is just the only way to not get into some huge loss. We do this by making use of what we can forgo in a sudden dump of the token or coin which is highly anticipated from shitcoins. The short term profit is primari the only attraction from people going into investing in altcoins and which is why I don't express pity anymore than I used to towards people that loses money through some hyped altcoins. They knew what's likely to happen before jumping in, when they could invest in bitcoin and be patient with their holdings.
