Last season, these two teams were involved in a fairly tight competition, with both vying for the best. Napoli itself was able to take advantage of the situation because Inter Milan had a greater focus on the Champions League so Napoli took advantage of the situation and managed to achieve the Scudetto, something like this that Inter Milan needs to avoid this season.
Is this supposed to be an excuse for Inter Milan misfortune last season? I don't think so because their performance in the final never show they were so focused. What happened in the end, focusing on champions league and then lost both the league and UCL eventually. That's not the champions way of doing things. The likes of Madrid, PSG and others are not using magic to do it, Inter Milan is not forbidden from do it too. You can not forfeit one for another and then lose both at the end. I'm not too impressed with how they start this season again but it's too early to start complaining now.
