I've seen the same trend. Some even say they don't really care about gold and put money into crypto.
The massive growth I suppose was coming from the fact that bitcoin is new and the potential is massive.

But moving forward I kinda expected the newer generation to be more familiar with bitcoin than gold to be honest.
Needless to say gold will still be as good store of value as it is today though.

Young people tend to like and be willing to take risks and want to get rich quick, so it is no surprise that they tend to favor bitcoin and crypto over gold or stocks. Not to mention, with an increasingly pragmatic world, making money is becoming more and more difficult. People will tend to look for investments, especially those that offer big and quick returns like bitcoin will attract more attention. Therefore, the demand for investing in bitcoin will certainly increase even more in the future.

Bitcoin will be a sought-after and popular investment in the coming decades, but when it comes to store of value, safe haven, I believe the world will still value gold more.
