The thing I do when I'm not gambling is definitely working. I only gamble for 1 hour at most a day, so currently my gambling situation is still good because it doesn't interfere with my work time and when I'm with my family, I prefer to play online games rather than gamble for more than 1 hour.
Everyone has their limits and what actually works for them. Personally I think gambling for an hour might be too much if you are focusing on reducing losses and trying to gamble responsibly. The longer you keep on gambling the more money you lose, from my experience the only thing that can keep a gambler actively gambling for an hour is probably when you are chasing losses and this can end negatively
Unless it is sports betting, spending over an hour on gambling is way to much. What game will you be playing like that and how many losses would you have recorded gambling for that long, especially if it is slots where you just spin and hope it rolls in your favour. Let's imagine if it was that kind of game, how many losses should you have recorded by the time it's 30 minutes then talk more of 1 hour. It will be so much loss on you already and that's why one should be smart enough to set boundaries for themselves when gambling.
Considering some luck that will allow your greed to be covered but along the way that time frame that being used will only lead you to lose everything in your bankroll, though if you have that decent control managing to quit while you gain something decent, but then again that long stay inside gambling aside from sports betting may lead you losing your deposit, worse, you can add more then lose everything again.
Working most of the time and only giving gambling one hour a day shows you already have structure in your routine. since you also prefer to spend time with your family or play regular online games instead of stretching gambling longer, it proves you’re not letting it interfere with more important parts of your life, but the truth is one hour of gambling daily can still build up losses faster than expected. the longer someone stays in, the more chances the house edge takes effect, especially with slots where spins happen quickly. chasing losses is what usually keeps people locked in for that length of time and that’s where discipline gets tested.
Sports betting might allow for longer sessions since waiting for results can stretch time, but with games of pure chance like slots, even 30 minutes can eat through a bankroll. by the one hour mark most players have already faced multiple losses that outweigh small wins. that’s why smart boundaries are critical. Luck can sometimes cover up greed if you happen to hit a win, but relying on that creates false confidence. quitting while ahead requires strict control, otherwise the extra time played just leads back to losing it all. that’s why even with limits it’s better to keep the sessions short and avoid making gambling feel like a daily routine.
