In addition to Milan, I have heard of some other European teams also being after Akanji recently.

Actually Galatasaray has already been in talks for him. They have reached an agreement with Manchester City too but still no green light on the player side...

I wonder, what is taking him so long?  Huh  He isn't a starter at his team anymore and not much time left for the end of the transfer window for European leagues.

After spending a significant amount of money to bring in Victor Osimhen and several other players, I thought Galatasaray would end their involvement in the summer transfer market. However, it seems that what they have done is not enough to strengthen the depth of their squad, and Galatasaray are still trying to compete in the transfer market to bring in Manuel Akanji. The decision now rests with the player, but from what I've read, Akanji has outright rejected Galatasaray's offer, before AC Milan came along to tempt him.

Akanji is now truly torn, but if he wants to continue playing in one of Europe's top five leagues, he could move to Serie A and join AC Milan. However, if he wants to compete in the Champions League, his choice is to join Galatasaray. He must make a decision quickly before the transfer window closes; otherwise, he will only be a benchwarmer at Manchester City, as he is clearly not Pep Guardiola's first choice at the moment.

Some players and clubs want to use the transfer window until the last minute. This is because last-minute transfers are either too expensive or too cheap. This may be the reason why many transfers fail to be completed. Galatasaray reached an agreement with Manchester City for Akanji, but there is no agreement with the player yet.

Galatasaray has made and continues to make very expensive transfers. They are strengthening their squad, but when several star players join the same team, managing them can become difficult. Okan Buruk is a successful manager and I believe he can overcome this. Galatasaray could acquire other players before the transfer window closes.
