Newcastle land striker Nick Woltemade in club-record £69m deal

Newcastle have signed the German forward Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart in a club-record deal reportedly worth £69m.

The 23-year-old’s deal eclipses the £63m Newcastle paid for Alexander Isak three years ago when the Sweden striker, now wanted by Liverpool, became the club’s most expensive player.
I did not know about Woltemade but this transfer is like a serie of effects between Isak, Newcastle United, Liverpool and this young striker. Isak no longer wanted to play for Newcastle United and created pressure for his transfer from the club to Liverpool. Liverpool have been trying to negotiate with Isak and Newcastle United for this transfer and with this newest transfer of Woltemade, it signals that Isak transfer to Liverpool will be completed in coming hours.

The summer transfer is counting very last hours before its closure and Newcastle United have their preparation for Isak departure already. I am not sure about quality of Woltemade but he can be grown up by Newcastle United like how they did and succeeded with Isak after several years.
i'd rather call that as a panic transfer. Buying a striker that has never been impressive even in Bundesliga. Are they so dumb or what? If it was 30m - 40m, fine. The problem is that they are inflating the price of mediocre striker like that. I think there will be a domino effect to happen.

Also to confirm they have stated they will not sell Isak, and willing to integrate him with Nick Woltermade, their new striker.
