You are actually right self control is the number one thing a gambler is suppose to have even before one starts, betting because self control helps a lot, not just continuous betting till you get a better win.
So many people feel or believe to play and one day they hit it big, without understand that one will loose it all financially if he or she doesn't have a bet limit.
It's very very easy to lose in betting and it's not just about knowing your limit to it it all about a good planning of how you bet, I mean setting your budget, if it goes the way you planned or not you need to stick to that budget.
