This generation wey we dey now just dey up side down. How primary children wan take enjoy their time in primary schools if there is nothing like graduation ceremony? How they wan take showcase their talents? To me, wetin those two governors do no make sense. I taught in a private school, so I no the joy wey children dey get when activities like this dey go on, and by right, is it not the responsibility of the parents to take good care of their children especially through education.
I still think it is good that children have these experience of graduation ceremony regardless.

you are speaking from the angle of a teacher and looking at it only from the angle of the child being happy about the celebration. what about the parents that bears the bigger brunt? they have to buy text books, buy new uniform for SS CLASS, pay for end of year programs, pay new fees and you still think it is worth it doing graduation ceremonies for literally any little milestone the child crosses.

If you ask me, there is nothing special about JSS 3 including the junior WAEC they write. at the end of the day, you will never use that junior WAEC. School administrators have always used these means to extort parents while neglecting the core thing of ensuring that the children are actually learning well. i have equally taught in a private school and knows what parent and even teachers are going through because of these plenty of unnecessary ceremonies. the step by the governors are a very good step in the right direction and hopefully, other governors will take same part and implement it in their states.
