Why such drama over Guehi failed transfer? He is in the last year of the contract, worst case he is free player next year and he can already sign new contract in 6 months time.
If he was promised a transfer as soon as big club comes sniffing it is one thing, but if he just signed a contract like regular player, stop crying and work it off. That is why we have contracts and not verbal agreements.
There isn't a good way to punish players for bad behaviour, but what Isak and Wissa have done to their clubs should be punished and not celebrated.
I couldn't have said it better: when you have a contract, you have to honour it; we should stop celebrating players who are completely disrespectful to contracts so that it does not become the norm for future generations.
I would agree that some players do go to extra length which is often bizarre, but
we cannot pretend that more often than
not they are usually the victim, and it is always not win situation for them, whenever a player's desire is to leave the club, it is always deemed disrespectful but not the club, look Jadon Sancho's situation and a lot of other players at Man United including Anthony club freezes them out and they were told to go look for clubs that they're
nonot in their plans, I think maybe a release should be mandatory in all contracts, football for these clubs is a business, and we can say outrightly that any club that signed a player were doing so out of the goodness of their heart or doing the player a favor, but I believe a player's heart is set out to go somewhere else, then the club should be willing to enter discussion with the player and ensure that they get paid whatever they think the player is worth to them.
Mbappe honoured his contract to the end despite being a long term deal, and a villain was still made out of him, but if not for "Enrique, as Mbappe stated" the club was hell bent on making his final day miserable and he probably would never played football for several month, just so they could force him to sign an extension.
