Maybe they should wake up before it's too late. You can play like that in the early stages of the season against your archrival in a competition. All they had to do was to take the ball to Liverpool right from the word go, but they decided to play cautious defensive football as though it was some sort of Final.

I don't mean to belittle Arsenal, but I imagine this season will be another disappointing one for Arteta and his team. Logically, to win a trophy, Arsenal must beat the reigning champions and other strong contenders, but currently, Arsenal haven't been able to do that. I think Arsenal only chance of winning a trophy this season is to hope Liverpool regress, which I think is highly unlikely. Chelsea also seems to be a barrier for Arsenal, as will Manchester City if they can perform consistently in the future.
