They don't know the effect that they can get. Becoming a victim of laundering is a simple thing that may happen if they give to the wrong person. Their KYC can be used to verify many things especially the platform doesn't need online verifications so those who use it will benefit from the KYC. The thing that they can do is just not give their identities to any unknown platforms and always research before they want to do verification. That will help them to stay away from the bad things that can occur.
