Not only Pep Guardiola but Manchester City as a club are beginning to lost momentum, I think it's an era coming to an end because for Manchester City to seat in such position in the beginning of a season means that something is not right some how, if I'm to be Pep Guardiola I'd take a shot break to cool off the tense.
What does taking a break mean, is stepping down as a manager? Because if that's the case, Pep Guardiola would have to pay compensation as per his contract, every manager who steps down must pay compensation to the club.
Don't be surprised by Manchester City decline in performance, as they are currently undergoing a major transition from old players to new ones. So what they need to aim for this season is to create balance first, rather than targeting the championship. Pep Guardiola does seem overwhelmed, but suggesting that he step down is not the solution to the performance problem.
If Manchester City coach is truly a talented coach, nothing will make their performance to decline in this tournament, but what is happening to Manchester City in this new season show that their new players are not displaying what will make the fans to be comfortable when they meet strong teams,  just take a look at Chelsea new players and what they have done to assist the team to won FIFA club world cup and other title to make fans to praise Chelsea coach because he signed talented players to make Chelsea team to increase, I don't think Manchester City will create a balance in the remaining matches because their management are not ready to buy first class players that willin this summer to play a good role like De Bruyne and other talented players that left Manchester City.
