We can say that since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al Nassr, where he has brought about many changes. This includes boosting the Saudi league's popularity and even attracting other famous soccer players to join various teams in Saudi Arabia, which has greatly benefited the league. However on the other hand Ronaldo is confident that his career in Saudi Arabia will lead him to the most beautiful World Cup ever by 2034 (Source). This means that Ronaldo has plans to extend his career in Saudi Arabia for the long-term. However Cristiano Ronaldo still seems to have so many ambitions to pursue. Even though football players his age usually decide to retire from their careers as players or even become coaches and do other things that do not involve direct participation as players on the field. So what Ronaldo has done is commendable considering how well he is still performing until today. I personally prefer players like this who don't give up easily and full of ambition. It is fair to say that he is like a robot.
It is VERY clear that he is saying all of those for marketing, if you paid me 200 million dollars a year, I would travel around the world everyday with a Saudi shirt and explaining the whole world why the Saudi kingdom is the greatest nation in the world. It is not really that shocking that he is doing PR for them, and their world cup as well, because he gets paid to do exactly that.

As a footballer we all know he doesn't worth 200 million a year, hell he doesn't worth even 20 million a year anymore, his talents is not worth it anymore at all. But his name? brand? marketing? that worths 200 million easily and that is why Saudis pay him. So saying 2030 world cup and Saudi league is strong etc? Those are just all marketing.
