Nepal has ordered a nationwide block on 26 major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, WhatsApp and LinkedIn, after they failed to register with the Ministry of Communications within a seven-day deadline. TikTok, Telegram, and Viber remain accessible as they have registered or are registering.

Even if these social media representatives register and Nepal lifts the ban, they will still censor those who will criticise and expose corruption in the government.

Nepal is not a communist country, but one of its top parties is communist in nature, yet they acted like a dictator in a communist country.

The Nepal government wants to portray this ban as a way to restrict the spread of fake news, but in reality, it’s meant to suppress the people’s will and complaints.
