Open thread: What is your type of perception about bitcoin; do you consider it as a currency or as an investment asset or both?

Both

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and at the same can used as an investment or asset.

The continuous growth of Bitcoin due to scarcity makes it perfect as investment in long term. Many Bitcoin holders preferred it not use as daily payment since it’s value is too precious to spend regularly.
Bitcoin has dual purpose, can be a good a currency and a profitable investment as well. But looking it as an investor’s mindset, spending bitcoin like a regular currency is more likely a waste of precious gem, some would be even dying hard just to buy bitcoin so there’s no reason spending it when we have all the fiat to spend that is totally losing its value.

I prefer to save and accumulate more of it instead. Bitcoin can be more valuable in the next couple of years, so I chose to invest on it rather than spending it.
Simply put: I consider Bitcoin as both a currency of value and a digital investment asset.
One very good reason to support this accepted claim is that since the creation of Bitcoin, it has exhibited every characteristics of a true currency of value and thus proven critics wrong when they thought Bitcoin was going to crash after the halving that has been a major event unfolding  every four years.

For now, I prefer to transact daily with my local fiat, accumulate and hold when I can and only do large transactions with Bitcoin across borders that may cost much in terms of fees from a commercial bank.
