Last year here in my country, news circulated the whole of social media of a young student under the age of 25 who gambled away his school, then stole his friend's debit card and spent the friend's school fees too without the knowledge of his friend, when the school authority started asking their school fees, the friend learnt that his gambling friend had used up his school fees without his knowledge, he reported to the school authority, the case was pending final decision from the school authority when the gambling student went and committed suicide by drinking an insecticide.
Some students are addicts, and such student don't do well because gambling affects their studies.
25 ? A student, but also a fully grown up adult. If the person was really 25, it to silly to talk if he was irresponsible and did not understand what he was doing. Maybe that not a best example. Because a person can become a student at 50+ for example, and should we consider such person as a person who isnt ready for grown up life? A student from your example is a person who had problems with mind, not a person problems with gambling.
Well, I said under 25, which means the victim isn't up to 25 years of age, I am not very sure of his actual age, I just decided to use "under 25" as I know he will be between the age range of between 18 and 25..
But all the same, I wasn't talking about a kid or someone who is to be considered as an underaged if found gambling, the victim was qualified to gamble based on age criteria, he was in high school, second year if I still remember well, so he was no longer a kid and definitely, he knew well what he was doing..
And speaking of having problems with the mind, I do not see any difference in someone who have problems with the mind and someone who have problems with gambling, gambling works with the mind and a person who have gambling problems surely have problems with their mind and sense of reasoning.
I meant that only a person with mind problems can commit a suicide because he has lost money in gambling. I can not imagine how come money force someone to end his life. That person must have head family and friend who could have helped him to recover lost money and pay for studies in the end.
Nevertheless, we speak here only about negative part of gambling, about losses. Why not speak also about winnings? People not only lose in gambling after all. There must be people, who have won and managed to pay for studies, rent, buy food after all. So we cant say that gambling affect studies only negatively. To someone it helps to continue studying.
