I'm sure op did not give out his number to the p2p vendor. It looks like the p2p vendor got op contact number from his account. Thesedays people use Opay, palmpay, kuda and other account number that from your contact number. If op made a P2P trader with his phone number as his account number, the p2p vendor might chat him through the fintech bank.

Some vendors always add it as part of the rules for sellers to drop their number before they make payment, whose reason is to always make sure they can reach out to the seller if there is any delay in releasing of funds after payment has been sent, but they can also have ill intentions with that number request. We can always avoid those types of buyers if we want.
That is true mate. This is also another method whereby p2p vendors get people contact numbers.
