Basically, when you provide your public address to an exchange, the exchange only knows your public address and transaction history visible on the blockchain (due to its transparent nature). The exchange cannot know which wallet you are using (such as Metamask, Trust Wallet, Ledger, etc.). The exchange only knows the address you provided and the related transactions, but it cannot access the details of the wallet you use or your seed phrase. Your privacy remains protected, though transaction records on the blockchain are always transparent.
