Yeah, people would surely do that if it ever becomes possible, anything to avoid taking responsibility and being their own bank. However, to have it suggested in a BTC forum is ludicruous, though i understand it is from a newbie who probably doesn't understand a lot of things about BTC and the cryptocurrency network in general.

I don't see why it isn't, especially if the merchant uses a payment processor that converts it automatically to any currency of their choice.
