What do you do when you meet people who are financially or economically in a better position than you? Let us all be honest here.. we sometimes compare ourselves to our peers and see if they are doing better than us. There are times where, whether it is good or not, we can tell they are doing better in life. Of course we do not know their struggles but we know that financially they are quite more comfortable than you.

In that case, should you try to fake your own situation as to not get pity or should you be honest? When I encounter people who are financially ahead than me I just think that it will be me someday... That I will reach that level too where I would be able to buy whatever they can. So basically I try to make them my inspiration. Do you take inspiration from the rich people or do they make you feel worse?

If they are in my close circle, like friends, I try to learn from them. Surprisingly, they are often very open about what they are doing and I have learned a great deal just by asking them about stuff.  If they are not close to me I don't do anything. If I don't have any conversation with them, why would I bother them with my questions? It might even offend them or they might give me wrong info. I don't get jealous if that's what you are wondering because jealousy makes you angry and stupid. You can't get wealthy if you stay angry and stupid. Getting inspired though, that's exactly what you should be doing. That's also why we read books written by the great investors so we can understand how they think. We read their stories so we learned from their experiences and don't repear their mistakes. When I interact with a wealthier individual, I treat him/her like a book as well. A book I can learn from by talking to him/her.
