Bitcoin Core encrypts only the privately keys in your wallet.dat file using AES-256 to protect your funds. Encryption does not affected the wallet's tree in the way other information, such as transaction history or addresses, which remain unencrypte. A strong passphrase is the most important factor in securing your wallet against brute-force attacking
