I personally underestimated Atletico Madrid in that match. I believed before the match started that Real Madrid would win. But the reality was beyond my expectations. Even the scoreline was very surprising. A 5-2 scoreline didn't look like Atletico Madrid facing one of the strongest teams in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid truly looked like a team that had already identified the weaknesses in Real Madrid's defense. And I'm sure Real Madrid are starting to experience a decline in defense again after Trent's injury. Yes, Alonso has a lot to learn from this result.
Before the match, I knew Real Madrid won't have an easy time against Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid is always a difficult team to face, and playing them in their own stadium makes it even more difficult.
Their home fans brings a lot of energy, and we know derby games always come with extra pressure and some kind of emotions.
What really shocked me the most was the number of goals in the match. I was expecting something tight, maybe a draw or a narrow win for Real Madrid at most because, going into the game, they were obviously the favorite for the win. But the final score was completely different from what I imagined.
