I'd imagine the price drop is due to people mining and converting to BTC. As far as I know, YAC is still (one of) the most profitable coins to mine.

I am interest to see how the coin will be affected by the next N-factor increase (at the end of the month - Sat 31 May 2014 14:13:52). YAC will then require a total of 8 MB of memory...

IMOP with the higher 'difficulty' to mine, the price will increase.
