This is very nice, I liked it a lot. OP should use a smaller version of this for his logo. You are right. the design should approach the fear in a humorous way, certainly no vampires and blood Cheesy

The first thing that springs to mind was the "Scream" painting by Edvard Munch (the original concept behind the "Scream" masks) with a bowler hat (banker's hat) with an orange exclamation mark on it.
