The closed source problem is no different than NXT a few short months ago.
Keep it closed source for as long as you like, dev. Retain the first mover advantage. Release when good and ready. No hurry.

I've also seen posts by multiple devs of coins wanting to add masternodes to their own coin.
So they should do it, right? Oh, they're waiting to copypasta Evan's work and he's not giving it to them which makes their douchedevery even more obvious...
Dumbasses, shitcoins and douchedevs, oh my!
Being closed source in the new crypto environment is not a bug, it's a feature.A bad feature.
Pretty useful for now. And a bad feature for you (after looking through your post history you are clearly a monero man) as drk would be washed away in a sea of clones if it open sourced too early. So instead of trolling drk why don't you go back to monero and try and make it better competition, I dunno solve block chain bloat or pump the price or make it a little more useable so DRK can have actual competition. Competition is good. Being cloned to death is bad. Close source for now is good.
Closed source cryptocurrency is bad. Many people think so.
My belief in cryptonote coins does not make me a Monero man. I believe cryptonote will evolve and be a better anonymous solution that Darkcoin and it's masternode network ever will be. I like that developers of several cryptonote coins are actually working together to make a better cryptocurrency for everyone. They actually share improvements with each other. Unlike Darkcoins closed source masternode approach where a few wealthy individuals will be able to charge fees from users and also collect percentage from miners also.
Already you read post from people brag about how many masternodes they have/are setting up. It will be just like today global banking firms. Where a few control the network. One guy will be Bank of America, Another Wells Fargo, US Bank, Chase, etc...
I would never send my money through a closed source, unregulated network. I'm not on here slamming Darkcoin, I just state my beliefs. Too many people are buying into hype from a few loud large holders of Darkcoin who are only here for the money. Don't be fooled by them. They are selling while at the same time calling people weak hands. They have done a good job with their propaganda.
Like I said early. Darkcoin is good coin to make profit if do it right. Beyond that, it never will be a widely adopted currency. Neither will 99% of any of altcoins. Bitcoin is the only one that will widely adopted. I just bought laptop on Overstock.com, you can pay Dish Network bill in bitcoin, PayPal/Ebay is likely start accepting bitcoin near future. That will never happen Darkcoin. Bitcoin is the first and everything else will just fight each other over some niche market.
So you left a trail of your spending all over the internet. That's cool.
DRK is based off similar code to bitcoin, if there is ever a privacy backlash against bitcoin, DRK will be easy to implement. Or it can simply be slotted in next to Bitcoin at any point, again because of similar code. Might take a little work and effort, but still easier than completely different source code.
I've sat in the fucking boring implementation, cost vs. benefit, lets do the less risky options meetings....I know how the discussions work. Cryptonote hasn't got a fucking chance of going into merchant acceptance, even if it might have some reasonably good tech.
