Is this to be expected? when on normal scrypt my average daily payout was about .005 for a 24hr time period.

Different server clusters in different locations, one of them being up means nothing for the other being up (would be like saying "amazon is up, but google isn't"). That said, both of them should be fine and I don't show any problems on my end. Host Not Found might be a networking problem on your side (maybe a DNS lookup problem?)
