A measurement is the production cost, we can calculate the cost to produce 1 BTM at any given period of time, then use this to calculate a 'production cap' and an average production price for each bitmark.

The exact figures are unknown as every hashing device has a different cost, and many people use rented mining rigs. This is a reasonable measurement.

This calculation can be used on any currency, it would be interesting to apply it to some other currencies and cross reference it the market price

The thing is that there was no premine or instamine from dev. He has like a 300 coins right now. So best option for you in a few days will be to invest into IPM pool (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=660544.msg7893498#msg7893498) or rent scrypt mining rig and mine on one of avaliable pools that support Bitmark.
