Many of those faucets have a referral system, so you can earn much more if you manage get a lot referrals. Also in poor countries there are people who earn less than $1 per day. To them $5 can be a week's salary.

Those who are earning less than $1/day does not have an internet connection. So, they are outside the periphery of referral system.
