I guess I don't understand why there are leads to every pin on the connector, rather than just the ones needed to turn on the PSU. Is it safe to assume those leads would be live, and have current running through them? I'm no EE, I'm just curious if these are 'safe' enough to use in a household with animals or children.

no that could shock as the entire 5v amp's are available. I would not use that product without the pins covered.

added advantage the on off switch has long length for placement.

5v at these amperage will not cause shock. You could lay your finger over the entire set of pins without a single problem.

Wow! I guess I should be dead now since I licked both of my hands and grabbed the + and - terminals of my 875 Amp 12v car battery, oh wait its DC just like the PSU pins. Kiss
