* notwithstanding you'd need a very long tongue and would actually need to attach wires first.

The car battery really wouldn't be that much worse than a 9V battery. You could try it on a 12V power tool battery or a lantern battery, with the added benefit of not needing to stack three of Gene Simmons' tongues end to end.

You guys remind me of when I was in the navy on a nuclear submarine. One of our jobs was to go into the battery compartment to check on the individual cells where you had to crawl over many batteries that had terminals about 8 inches apart. To prevent shorts there was a rule that you could not go down there with any tool that was over 6 inches long. Of course all of us navy guys claimed to have 'tools' longer than 6 inches..
