macports...the issue is being resolved, stay tuned

It's not picking up on the openssl version you installed. Do an 'Openssl version' and see what it returns. I suspect either macports or macdeployqt stuffed up when it tried to link openssl.

The thing is, also, looks like for it to work on 10.9 + i have to bundle the libraries into the app. And that's what i tried to do. No luck yet, python 2.6 needs to be python 2.7 then maybe more luck, and so on...

But VM lags sooo much...
Hope fellow apple lover lemurs would compile the right one for bounty.
Meanwhile, i suppose it should work on versions prior to 10.9
