Best to not just close it, but to offer a final date. I'd definitely think it's okay to close at beta launch, if announced so all parties involved can focus on other things rather than assets.

It'll close as soon as redemption process starts anyway. Since that is not too far away I'd be for closing it now to give people time to discover their hacked / phished accounts.
