In order to begin staking your coins:

Download wallet, open, let chain sync
Encrypt wallet, send coins to wallet.
Click unlock in the bottom right corner
Let coins mature (wait several hours)
In reality, staking is not of much use unless you hold for months

Thanks Ferguson, I plan on holding for a while so why not? Plus I've never staked a coin before so I wanted to give it a try.

So I followed the steps you gave me. I've sent the coins to my wallet from bittrex (just a few to test) annnnd I have yet to see them arrive in my wallet. Am I doing something wrong?

lol nevermind, the coins showed up.... i guess the only thing i do now is let it sit
