There are plenty of people who have won big. The usual 1% is not that much of advantage. The biggest problem of big winners is they keep coming back for more...

On average they will end up loosing over the long run. People who have won big tend to have not played for very long and happened to have a early lucky streak. If they continue to play with similar amounts or withdraw and come back and play with similar sized bets then they would tend to lose over the longer run.

Generally speaking if you want to have a good chance of winning you will need to win early on, however there are many exceptions to this rule Wink
