First, create a new folder and rebuild the DB in there with --db-type=DB_BARE, then try to spend your coins from that DB.

If that fails, the trouble shooting is gonna get a whole lot more complicated.

The simplest solution I can offer is for you to send me a watching only copy of your wallet for me to work on directly. That will come at the cost of your privacy though.

You also have the option to wait for 0.96 and the new signer code, which may or may not fix that issue.

Lemme see if I got it right:

I'll have to create a new Armory directory on my '/home/user' and then on Armory client settings configure the client to use that new folder instead of the default '/.armory'.

Then let the database build there and try spending it, is that right?

Ok, I was able to transfer the funds just not all of it...

It seems there's a little bit of coins that I'll have to keep in my wallet.

Was that a bug in the BTC change system?

I'll try the DB command later, thanks again Goatpig

Ok, but first I'll try to spend it again.

The test transaction actually took all fund from the test wallet sooo the fee was taken from the bugged address. Strange huh?

Does this always happen with the same wallet? For whatever reason some of the outpoints are empty. Use the coin control feature to try and isolate the culprits and report here.

Thanks Goatpig,

You're right, the address in most of my funds are deposited is bugged, I just sent a test transaction to the wallet and tried to transfer the same coins after (using only this test address with the coin control) and the transaction seemed to work.

The problem is that literally 99% of the funds are in this bugged address...

Having Trouble sending Coins in Armory 0.95.1

Hi guys I tried using 0.95.1 and I had to troubleshoot the Armory client not being able to access the BTC network (that JSON issue other ppl reported).

Then I tried to send funds to my phone's wallet but the transaction failed with this msg:

Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/armory/ui/TxFrames.py", line 829, in createTxAndBroadcast
    ustx = self.validateInputsGetUSTX()
File "/usr/lib/armory/ui/TxFrames.py", line 810, in validateInputsGetUSTX
    utxoSelect, scriptValPairs, pubKeyMap)
File "/usr/lib/armory/armoryengine/Transaction.py", line 2259, in createFromTxOutSelection
    return self.createFromPyTx(thePyTx, pubKeyMap, txMap, p2shMap)
File "/usr/lib/armory/armoryengine/Transaction.py", line 2169, in createFromPyTx
    cppPrevTx = TheBDM.bdv().getTxByHash(txhash)
File "/usr/lib/armory/CppBlockUtils.py", line 1426, in getTxByHash
def getTxByHash(self, *args): return _CppBlockUtils.BlockDataViewer_getTxByHash(self, *args)
RuntimeError: unexpected type

I'm quite sure that my phone's wallet Address is right.

Here is what I'm doing:
Selecting the Armory wallet from which I want to withdraw funds, clicking on "Send Bitcoins" and then putting my phone's wallet address in the "Enter Recipients" address 1.

Thanks in advance.

Zarathustra is not entirely wrong C.Banks he's right when he says the size issue will need to be revisited/addressed.

THAT SAID, this doesn't mean that XT was the way to do it which is what most ppl are trying to say to Zarathustra.

I responded to your ticket. I'm fairly sure Core mobile runs only a lite wallet, so it's to be expected it doesn't support arbitrary utxo lookups.

Sry, my knowledge is very limited.

However I'm quite sure the Bitcoin-Wallet was able to sweep paperwallets (from bitcoinpaperwallets.com). I'm positive cause I tested it first to try if the paperwallets would actually work (I had never tried them back there).

Thank you very much for your answer.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys.

Sry, all things become clear after I posted here, but your confirmation was needed anyways (since I'm pretty new aroud here).

Damn, this Wallet is awesome! Really If I knew about it earlier I'd have been using it straight away.
It's sad Armory DEV's are having a rough time cause their work is awesome!

I just hope I'm not joining an ending project.

One last thing that I should point out Bitcoin core wallet for smart phones isn't sweeping properly as well.

That said the problem might be with BITCOIN CORE not Armory client!

Funds are always sent to a public key in every wallet, which basically translates to a specific Bitcoin address.

Wallets don't have a single public key unless they have only one address.

Only Armory and any blockchain parser can give you your balance, as usual.

If you want to check the public key associated with an address, you can do so on Armory by right clicking an address

The thing is at BitcoinQT I could just copy paste the wallet's public key to blockchain.info research tool and check all the funds and transactions, on the other hand in Armory there's no Public key directly pointing at the wallet.

The best I was able to do was getting the Wallet's ID.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems there's no Public key of the wallet ITSELF. What Armory client provides are the other public keys generated to store the coins you received (which get stored at "adresses in wallet").
So if I'm right, there's no way to check my funds outside the Armory client, because there's no wallet public key. Each coin transfer generate new public keys using your wallet as a generator.

I don't know if I'm right, but it seems pretty interesting security feature if I'm.
Nobody will be able to watch your finance just by sending you 0.00001 BTC, cause they won't get your actual public key they only get one key Armory client randomly generated using your wallet as some sort of decoder.

EDIT:

LOL, actually it seems it is a feature not a lack of it.
Okay, you can't see your funds outside Armory, but that means nobody can spy your finances, it's a cheap price to pay for this kind of security.

Armory wallet question
by
AMVM
on 09/11/2015, 11:54:00 UTC
I tried the FAQ with no success.

Since a while ago I've only used Bitcoin-QT as my wallet and I noticed that my funds were always sent to a Public Key.

I was messing with the Armory Wallet and noticed that I don't know the wallet's Public Key. Is there a way to find it?
I mean it seems that every time I push "receive" in my Armory wallet instead of giving me the wallet's public key it generates a new address that will hold the coins.

This is a security measure, right?
But only Armory Client can show me my funds then? (since only Armory knows where those generated new address are attached to)

Thanks again.

Sweeping creates a wallet, imports the privates key in them, scans the keys then creates a transaction to send these coins to your wallets. You are not getting to the point where you receive the funds. You will have to submit a log file.

Yeah the only thing the client shows on "transactions" session is the original transaction in which I put the funds in the paper wallets.

There's no transaction transferring to the New wallet I just created on Armory.

This log you mentioned how do I generate it? "Export log file" option? Who do I send this log file to.
There won't be personal information sent with this log file?

Do you have a transaction hash?

I don't think so. It seems the client is accounting funds without any transaction from the sweeping, how's that even possible.

I'll try again and watch the transaction session (which showed the fund send to the Hot wallet).

Sweeping take a while tough I'll need like 15min.

What do you mean by the funds are lost? Sweeping creates another transaction which sends those bitcoin to to your wallet, so the funds should be there after the transactions confirm.

After the Sweeping Armory Client says my Wallet has those funds available to be spend (it's all available, not a since piece of BTC on "unconfirmed").

But after I restart the client there are no funds again. It looks like sweeping is not trully transfering funds to my wallet, despite the client showing the funds are there after the sweeping it won't stay like that after closing the client.

Sweepin question

Hello guys,

I'm just testing Armory wallet software and it rocks! (I hope you guys find a way to keep things going).

Okay now my problem: I tried to Sweep a bunch of paperwallets I made in paperwallets.com.
Despite being able to Sweep the funds from those paper wallets to My hot wallet I just created on Armory whenever I close Armory program the funds get lost.

I don't know why but It seems my hot wallet is not saving the Sweeping, everytime I restart the program the funds are lost and I need to do the sweeping again in order to see any funds in my new hot wallet.

Am I missing something? Is this how things are supposed to behave?

Thanks All!
AMVM
