Two elderly gentlemen are sitting on a park bench in Moscow talking, suddenly one says: "You know, President Putin says that the special military operation in Ukraine is really a war between Russia and NATO. - Oh, how's it going? "So far we have lost 15,800 soldiers killed, 6 Generals, 530 tanks, 1,597 armored vehicles, 1,033 soft vehicles, 280 howitzers, 82 rocket artilery, 47 anti-aircraft systems, 108 aircraft, 124 helicopters and 50 drones," he said. Oh, wow! And NATO? - They haven't showed up yet.
What will happen if NATO will show up?
The same thing that happened to Germany when the allied showed up.

Luckily they didn't quite yet have nuclear weapons back then.

Okay, this is a serious problem. You missed several mandatory updates since v4. I think you need help from a developer.
My suggestion is you move over to Gridcoins Discord channel and describe your problem there. This thread is rarely visited by devs.

Problem solved, thanks!

I updated from v4 to v. 5.1.0
However the Griudcoin wallet wouldn't even start. Then I removed all folders in recycle bin except my wallet.dat. Then Gridcoin v.5 complains that my wallet.dat is corrupt:
2020-12-07T19:01:45Z Renamed wallet.dat to wallet.1607367705.bak
2020-12-07T19:01:45Z Error: Salvage found errors, all data may not be recoverable.

Then I replaced the walletbackups folder into the GridcoinResearch folder in AppData directory. Still not working:
file unknown has LSN 49/1470961, past end of log at 1/28
Commonly caused by moving a database from one database environment
to another without clearing the database LSNs, or by removing all of
the log files from a database environment
Page 0: metadata page corrupted
Page 0: could not check metadata page
wallet.dat: DB_VERIFY_BAD: Database verification failed
file unknown has LSN 49/1470961, past end of log at 1/1076

How am I supposed to recover my coins or wallet that worked and staked just fine with the v4 wallet?

In terms of your wallet being empty, the most likely problem is that you have selected the wrong option from Legacy/Nested Segwit/Native Segwit. What number did you old addresses start with. 1, 3, or bc1?

Yeah, I must have made on error there. But never mind. I tried one of the Ledger Chrome apps and I managed to transfer the funds out 'till I make the firmware update and reset to the Ledger. So everything is OK.

Thanks for all for your advice.
So I decided to try to open the Ledger with Electrum. I'm running the installation wizard with these instructions:
https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005161925-Set-up-and-use-Electrum

However now the wizard asks me if I want to select wallet file encryption? What does this mean? It says that "If you enable this
setting, you will need your hardware device to open your wallet".

But what if I've updated the firmware or the device has been reset? I guess the encrypted wallet file won't open then?

edit: I tried without the encrypted file. And pressed next. The wallet is totally empty. No history, no transactions, nada!?!
The network light (on the bottom right row) shows green. Also the Ledger light is green. What went wrong?

How to access My Ledger Nano S Portfolio?

I haven't opened my Ledger Nano S in ages. Last time I remember I had to access it through a browser.

Now it seems that I had to install Ledger Live-software to access the assets. However I can't do anything through this damn Live program.

The portfolio on the left-side-menu is grayed out.

When I try to add an account I get an error message:
Ledger device: invalid parameter received (0x6b00)

I googled that this error is probably caused by having an old firmware. My version is 1.3.1

However I'm not sure If I want to update my firmware because I can't remember where my recovery phrase is. And the software says that I should have it within reach, as  a precaution.

So what was the oldschool way to access the Nano S? Through a browser but how?

AiBB tokens will be airdropped for Sysoin hodlers. Around when Sys4 will be released. Now seems like a really stupid time to dump...

AiBB is an "analytics powerhouse with an Ai assistant to help you make sense of the crypto markets".

Shit happens, but some folks are just begging for it. I'm sure a normal dose of, say, L, couldn't do that to a normal guy.
Depends. Most drugs affect the application layer of what makes you.... you. They make small changes that go away when rebooted. Pot and alcohol fall in this category.

A few affect the operating system that the thing called "you" runs on. They make more substantive changes in how you act and change a number of things that make you you. Good opiates fall in this category.

LSD and such twiddle around with your firmware or in some cases your microcode. They can change who you *are*, and can rewrite the thing your mental operating system runs on. Use with care.

I think everyone should try smoking DMT at least once. Its a natural chemical your brain already makes and very safe. The experience is over in minutes but it does feel like hours while you are in this other dimension. Once you smoke it there is no need to ever try any other drug, mountain climbing, sky diving, etc, because you will have already achieved the pinnacle of all strange and amazing experiences.  Cheesy

Salvia Divinorium is also a very worthwhile substance to try. At least once in a life time. Goes way beyond any kind of imagination and feels real as hell Smiley

Oh no, trolls are starting to move again.

WTF are you talking? Why would anyone possibly invest in X-Cash when the first (and only known) exchange listed on it's web-page shows that X-Cash's exchange value is the lowest there can possible be?

Doesn't seem like a very successful project...
