Re: Which country really has the most crypto holders by population?
by
Alvin_talk
on 30/09/2025, 05:38:21 UTC

UAE → ~25.3% of the population
    Singapore → ~24.4%
    U.S. → ~15%
    Turkey → ~14%
    Canada → ~13%
All bitcoins are crypto but not all crypto are bitcoins that means out of the percentages of crypto these countries hold respectively some could be altcoins. As you know, altcoins still have alot of cockroaches in their cupboard, so it is better to narrow down to bitcoin only.
Quote
When you look at it this way, it’s not about which country has the biggest market in raw numbers, but which one has the highest adoption relative to their population.
Raw numbers do count, remember majority always carries the vote. It will be better if populated countries like US, China, India and Russia fully adopt bitcoin as this will make global adoption even faster compared to if  lesser populated countries adopt it first.

We can't neglect countries adoption of bitcoin by population but I think it will be more pronounced if it is coming from densely populated countries.

Those who missed out to invest at the early stage of bitcoin still have the opportunity to do so now. No time is too late, the value of bitcoin will keep on appreciating

small guy like me won't ever be able to collect even 1/10th of a coin

It might sound like a joke to you but bitcoin is miracle God has presented to all men who are willing to grab the opportunity. Believe me bitcoin will be worth 10x its value or more in the nearest future, just like gold it will keep appreciating.

Soon you will know the importance of even owning 10 Satoshi not to talk of a bitcoin itself.

Am now raping up with this word of encouragement and advise, that those individuals who have not yet get started with bitcoin it's still early for them they can get started as soon as possible, because space offers vast potential for future growth and many more.

No body here needs a sooth sayer to know how advantageous it can be to invest in bitcoin. Those who missed out to invest at the early stage of bitcoin still have the opportunity to do so now. No time is too late, the value of bitcoin will keep on appreciating, though it is volatile in nature but if you hodl you will definitely benefit from your investment on the long run.

While it's generally not recommended, IMO this one of scenario where brainwallet or having encrypted cloud backup may help you.

While I am not generally in support with brainwallets but I think in this case it stands out.

I will also suggest that an inheritance plan like Dead Man's Switch can also be of help if you have a someone you can trust.

First of all your title is wrong, it should be "El Salvador launches bitcoin Bank soon"
El Salvador is really doing great away from legal tender now a Bank! I give El Salvador their flowers !
Do you really think so? What is the essence of decentralisation if you would still need a bank?

So far as am concerned this is a great threat to decentralisation. Its just thesame as storing your coins in a custodial wallet which means they will control your keys.

Remember, "Not your keys not your coins"

Re: Unveiling the Mystery of 21 Million Bitcoin
by
Alvin_talk
on 26/09/2025, 13:56:26 UTC
From the principle behind block halving it is evident that bitcoin will maintain its total supply of 21 million because 50 BTC halving occurs in every 210,000 blocks which mathematically sums up to around 21 million.

Consider this scenario, Gold is a highly valuable asset right? Because it is scarce and been trusted over the years as exchange. Just Imagine if Gold was as common as other fiat that can be printed at anytime, then its value would have been same or similar to fiats. Thesame applies to bitcoin, if the total supply increases then value also decreases.

We value bitcoin today as a digital asset (digital gold) because it possess similar characteristics as gold, if this is altered in anyway then I don't see any reason to hodl because the value will keep depreciating over time.

Op, I think including an intro to your write-up will make others understand better the information you are trying to pass.

That said, for me I think with the qualities bitcoin posses it will be more reasonable to say it is a digital asset for now. The scalability issue of bitcoin is a clear signal that it cannot be adopted as a global financial system at least for the time being. But if the scalability is enhanced then we can consider bitcoin as the future of global finance.

Re: Execute a transaction with the lowest possible fee in the mempool (mempool.space
by
Alvin_talk
on 25/09/2025, 17:19:22 UTC

Will executing a Bitcoin transaction (with Electrum) at the exact moment when the green transaction graph of https://mempool.space/ reaches its lowest point result in lower fee?

No, not exactly but you are close. Because the green graph on mempool.space is used to show the number of transactions that are not confirmed yet (pending transactions). So if it is lower then it ofcourse reduces the competition level for such block space therefore the fee tends to be lower, however, the time taken to confirm this transaction is not guaranteed.

c. Diversify Brands of Hardware Wallets: Some coins can be stored in Trevor while the remainder can be stored in Ledger Nano x as the case maybe. This way, bug or an exploit in one type will not compromise everything.
Trezor is good, but why Ledger?

There are better hardware wallets than Ledger.

Step 1: Coinjoin to make your on chain funds private
Step 2: Fake a "boating accident" where you tragically lose the keys for spending those coins

Lol. Never expected such idea but I think you are on point.

One of the top security tips for holding bitcoin is not to let anyone know you are holding it as it will endanger both your life and your coins.  Then this taught comes in, what if your holding is no longer a secret, how do you manage such condition? How do you secure yourself and your coins?

Well, I composed this as suggestion to help vulnerable members who failed to take precaution of one of the most important security tip. I will divide this into two sections;

1. Wallet security
2. Physical/Personal security

1. Wallet security: Since people are aware you hodl bitcoin you should be strict with your wallat security. The following suggestions should help;

a. Use Multisig Wallets: Of course you know that in multisig wallets, multiple private keys are needed to sign transactions before the coin can be used or spent. This will help prevent prevent a single compromise or coercion from draining all your bitcoin asset.

b. Segregating Holdings: splitting holding can also be of help. Store large bulk in cold, hidden storage and then keep a small portion on a hot wallet for day to day transactions this way, if you are ever forced to send some coins only a small portion of it will be at risk.

c. Diversify Brands of Hardware Wallets: Some coins can be stored in Trevor while the remainder can be stored in Ledger Nano x as the case maybe. This way, bug or an exploit in one type will not compromise everything.

2. Physical/Personal Security: As we all know, robbery is always associated with physical assault, so here are some suggestions that may reduce the possibility of such occurrence.

a. Install security devices such as CCTV cameras, alarms, motion sensor, etc as this will help you track strange activities around you.

b. You can also employ trusted security personnel or bodyguard if the threat level justifies this, especially if you are a public figure.

c. Also ensure to keep you location and travel plans undisclosed in order to reduce profiling by potential attackers.

d. Should there be any need to relocate from your existing neighbourhood? Please do, your potential attacker might just be your next door neighbour.

Note: These are just suggestions and not exhaustive as well. Feel free to contribute your ideas as well.

Please stay safe and be guided.

Re: Current sub-1sat/vbyte minrelayfee and historical precedent
by
Alvin_talk
on 23/09/2025, 20:46:26 UTC
Well, I think the core relay rules does not just focus on setting fees rather they are put in place to maintain the network general health.

It was reversed because it no longer matched the real world conditions. Remember that satoshis had become more valuable so the previous rate was unnecessary high as it obstructed some legitimate transactions. Moreover, miners were already including rates below 1 sat/VB which made core developers to adjust the node policy with miners behavior.

My brothers and sisters I greet ona o. Something just enter my head today to torchlight on this matter small.

Even as we dey learn more about how to secure our bitcoin make we also try dey learn how to secure our live first. I know say na God dey protect but make we try our own first then live the rest for God. Na person wey dey alive dey hodl bitcoin.

Snake na wetin dey really worry for many of our homes, even some offices too. Make we see some reasons why snake dey enter house:

From what i have made research on the websites cookies are know to be a small text files stored on your device's like desktop, phones, laptop's by a websites, which is allowed to tracks browser browser behaviour, preferences  and some other information, so i got learn some this from a pod cast on YouTube today so i couldn't resist sharing it because it really worth sharing, so here are throughful question that was shaped light on.

Cookies are supposed to serve as a tool to improve security and user experience unfortunately, scammers can turn it into a tool for malicious activities,  so my brother just as you have said we need to be more security conscious and know the kind cookies we accept.

- Suspicious websites Be cautious of sites with poor design, grammatical errors, or those asking for unnecessary personal information.

Even websites with great designs can also serve as threat.

To add to the list please do not autosave your password on any browser, if possible, back-up your pass by writing it down on a piece of paper and keep safe.

Re: Accumulating bitcoin through fixed personal income(salary or wages)
by
Alvin_talk
on 17/09/2025, 10:50:17 UTC

This seems confusing to me. You don't need to have a lot of knowledge before you start investing. Just know what Bitcoin is and how it works? Or at least enough knowledge to trust Bitcoin. If you spend too much time learning, you're delaying your investment and missing out on buying opportunities.

I mean no insult but your response to this topic is really poor and sounds attacking. Some Newbies in this platform are not really new to crypto or bitcoin and some have been here for a while hence thwy can construct reasonable post.

If this thread was constructed by a higher ranked member I don't think your response would have been the same. My advice for you is to read and understand before writing. If this post added no value to you I think it added to me.

Please focus more on the content not the rank.

Re: Bitcoin as a primary reserve
by
Alvin_talk
on 16/09/2025, 15:17:23 UTC
I think the down side of this would be the uncertainty in government regulations. The government can decide to impose task or restrict usage and another issue would be security concern because if the private key gets high-jacked by hackers then you loss your coin, beside bitcoin is still controversial in some sectors.

My suggestion to companies is that companies split their reserve across digital asset (Bitcoin) and physical asset such as gold. This way there will be balance.

Re: Should we be concerned big firms and countries are hodling more bitcoin?
by

on 16/09/2025, 05:01:28 UTC
No matter how we sugar-coat it, government indirectly influence bitcoin in one way or the other since they hold it in reasonable sum and stipulated law in the society.

The idea of decentralisation is perfect but it should be noted that this cannot be 100% achieved maybe 80%. But I don't think we should be bothered by this since we are not using bitcoin for criminal activities.

What I am about to say is quite controversial. I normally bet two slips containing thesame game, one for a possible cash out and the other one I can leave till the end of the game. The idea is even if the game cuts at full time I will use the cash out slip to recover my stake and if the other slip goes through its a win-win situation.
