Re: How our country go fit benefit if we legalize Bitcoin?

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not illegal in Nigeria. At least we are still trading them. The government went tough on naira to crypto P2P trading platforms but yet we are still trading cryptocurrencies. The government were very hash but we are still trading cryptocurrencies.

About foreign investors. Nigeria government and their officials are enough to discourage foreign investors. This is not about cryptocurrencies only but generally. You can see how they dealt with exchanges that provided crypto products and services to Nigerians. You can also see what Dangote which is not even a foreign investor is facing in his own country. There are many other ones that foreign investors would be discouraged.
it is true that the we still trade crypto currencies, but is it really legal?
And what I really mean by this "legal" is does the government really support crypto , no they don't .

Why is Bitcoin seen as a gateway to financial stability?
by
Amadi x
on 24/07/2024, 10:22:45 UTC
I really do not like the idea of people seeing Bitcoin as some form of get rich quick scheme or something like that. Everyone is just willing to invest in Bitcoin without having proper knowledge of what it is they are doing.
Bitcoin should be known for it's qualities such as
Durability, decentralized, divisibility,and portability..
How it could be used to better the society, and lessen corruption from our Elites.
It shouldn't be seen as some get rich quick scheme or so.

Re: can Bitcoin set a corrupted country free?

Well it's the same in my country, we distribute Electricity to different countries whereas due to corruption from our Elites our dear country Is failing.
The question of if Bitcoin can really set a corrupt country free.
Maybe yes or maybe No
Bitcoin is develop in such a way that all transactions are traceable, public and permanently stored in the Bitcoin network so it surely would reduce the level of corruption in a country such as yours .
But nevertheless your still cannot change the corrupt nature of man.

Re: Will bitcoin be affected if the internet gets disrupted?

Well, how disrupted??
I've never heard of such, so I don't think it's something to worry about.

But any ways if it really does get disrupted then there's a possibility it could affect BTC! Because literally almost anything revolves round the internet.

Bitcoin bulls book profit amid political uncertainty.

Biden’s withdrawal and endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency introduced some volatility to markets.

While the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has incorporated a pro-Bitcoin stance into his election platform, Harris’s stance on cryptocurrencies remains unclear.

Market intelligence firm sentiment noted that the market appears to react with an “immediate small panic drop in crypto prices” to news of Joe Biden’s stepping aside, as it did with the news of the Trump assassination.

How does Bitcoin really work?
by
Amadi x
on 22/07/2024, 09:57:52 UTC
As Bitcoin’s adoption has grown over the years, more people have likely begun wondering how Bitcoin works. Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency that operates on its own blockchain (the Bitcoin blockchain) secured and run by a vast global network of participants. It is a borderless asset that can be traded and transacted fractionally. Safeguarded by its open-source code, Bitcoin’s 21 million maximum coin supply makes the asset scarce and deflationary, unlike the U.S. dollar.

Often valued in a pair with the U.S. dollar, the Bitcoin price USD value has increased massively over the years. BTC owners can store Bitcoin themselves and transact it globally, void of any limitations on hours of operation. BTC has also gained a significant amount of mainstream attention over time, likely due to public support from celebrities such as Elon Musk and adoption from companies such as PayPal.

Hong Kong to launch Asia’s first inverse Bitcoin ETF.
by

on 22/07/2024, 09:50:55 UTC
I saw this on "cointelegraph this morning and decided to share with the forum.

On July 23, Hong Kong will witness the launch of Asia’s first Bitcoin futures inverse product, the CSOP Bitcoin Future Daily (-1x) Inverse Product (7376.HK).

The new exchange-traded fund (ETF) by China Southern Asset Management Co., Ltd (CSOP) aims to offer investors a method of profiting from declines in Bitcoin’s

 price.

This development follows the successful launch of the CSOP Bitcoin Futures ETF (3066.HK) in December 2022, continuing the firm’s expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.
The CSOP Bitcoin Futures Daily (-1x) Inverse Product is designed to offer investment results that correspond closely to the inverse daily performance of the S&P Bitcoin Futures Index.

This inverse product achieves this through a futures-based replication strategy, which invests directly into spot-month Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Bitcoin Futures.
According to a CSOP company post on July 22, the product is set to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) with a listing price of approximately 7.8 Hong Kong dollars (HKD) per unit.

The world's bitcoin users reach 420 million. The population of the United States is about 334 million and bitcoin users in America appear to be more than 93 million. This means that Trump carries almost 35% of the votes of the American population. But indeed, political conditions are always interesting and cruel. There is always a way when people need support to get a position. But this condition is quite interesting and beneficial for us because we can take advantage of its votality. Not expecting much from political promises. But I see Trump has felt the gains in crypto, I'm sure he'll continue to carry the Crypto name. Although I am not sure he can keep all his promises.

[/quote] we are not really expecting him to keep to all his promises, I mean no politician ever keeps to all their promises..
But like you said, we sure can take advantage of it's volatility.

If this reports are to be believed.
Then this comes as a surprise to we gamers , cause this was previously unheard of in previous version of auto games.

Now if you're a gamer like I am , how do you see this sudden move from GTA ?
Would it contribute immensely to the crypto space?.

Woah, this is insane if true. I hope so, it would definitely be fun to watch. I can see them trying to incorporate NFTs and Ordinals tokens or something like that perhaps. I can’t wait for it to come out man why the heck are they taking so damn long lol
this is really sick.
Of course I really can't wait too.

Donald trump's crypto platform is missing one thing .
by

A second Trump administration has expressed intentions to support innovation and create a more accommodating environment for the crypto industry. It should certainly defend the rights of Bitcoin miners, self-custodians, and people wishing to transact freely.

But, if a second Trump administration truly wants to champion innovation and “end Democrats’ unlawful and unAmerican Crypto crackdown,” it must also commit to defending the rights of the people building the tools that allow all of these things to happen.

Op, when sharing information, it's good to provide a source, so that people can see where the info is coming from and what the context is. I found the following article which cites a tweet by Watcher.Guru as a source. A tweet is short and vague, and it's not a credible source of information, in my opinion. To be honest, I hope they don't do it because I don't like games that involve in-game purchases in general. You pay for the game, and then you are drawn to keep spending, which can get addictive and is generally not nice for gamers.
ok thanks, I will next time.

by

on 20/07/2024, 07:59:15 UTC
The cryptocurrency market has experienced considerable turbulence over the past few months. Despite a recent upturn, the market capitalization is still down 14% from its peak in March.

According to a Binance Research report, June saw a “brutal” 11.4% total market capitalization downturn coinciding with the recent German government Bitcoin (BTC) sell-off.

What happened?
As stated by former us president, Donald trump "He believes That Digital currencies need to be made in the USA, in order to counter China's growing influence.
He shifts align with a border strategy to position the US as a leader in Emerging technologies.

Donald trump Is really drawing support from the crypto community , with some seeing this as some form of charade..
And others as a kind of light at the tunnel..
But whatever the case, we will keep showing our support for trump.
We believe trump's administration may give hope to cryptoprenuers🌚

What isn’t to love about this? Trump embracing crypto seems like such a huge win for Bitcoin and believe me (in trump voice) there has never been a greater win for Bitcoin and crypto until I endorsed it, the bull market will be YUGE.”
We cross our fingers 🤞..
And expect the best.

Re: Is your interest in bitcoin primarily tied to its price?

Well, due to its volatile nature..
Your interest shouldn't really be fixed keenly on it's price..

The absence of middlemen in btc exch for me is where my interest is really tied to.
