Interesting. Soo from what I can gather, without getting to technical. You are developing a new coin (Qtum) in that allows people to transfer currency differently than the traditional tranfers between wallet ID's. This just brings up a question, which you might have answered in some of all you interviews and web posts, but jesus christ that is alot of information to go through!

How are you intending to handle the tranfers (I can see that you allready mentioned tranfering via e-mails and etc.). Is it traditional hashing through miners and pools, like we allready know from BTC and soo many other coins, or how will the transfers be handled?

Good luck with you project and future endeavors.

Wow interesting.

I think we misunderstood each other a bit in question 7), but your answer just taught me soo much more than I had expected. I think the misunderstand is caused by my idea that blocks were gathered and controlled by the coinbase and not by the pool, so this brings up a couple of more questions. Again thanks for the help:

8 ) So is it correct that the individual pool (or in solo mining cases, the miner) that gathers each transaction in to blocks and then hashes that block for the block reward and transaction fee?
9) If each pool/miner chooses what transactions to put in their blocks (ofcourse prioritizing those with the highest fees attached to them), are there then a large "sea" of unconfirmed transactions with too low fees?
10) Is it correct to assume that a block must contain 232*D hashes of transactions before it can be hashed, or what controls that each block contains the necessary amount of transactions in order to claim the block reward?

I will now roll the dice and hope that the troll will continue to sleep soundly in his cave.

First of all, xhomerx10 is my new favorite user OF ALL TIME for using the most legendary reference system EVER!

Second of all, great explanation. I kinda get how "luck" isn't the traditional luck we all know and associate with four leaf clovers and rabbits feet.

6) Is it correct to define a mining pools luck as: mining pools efficiency in comparison to an ideal hashing of a block?
7) How is blocks allocated to different pools/miners, who/what makes sure that two miners arent hashing the same part of a block?

Sorry for getting a bit more complicated with the questions, but this is really interesting stuff and you guys are great teachers.

Ok, so for a newbie in this mining pool buisness, this is what I would love to know:

1) What is Pool luck?
2) How is it calculated?
3) What does it mean for a potential miner/invester in that pool?

Further questions, if any, will be added below.

 1) mining is probabilistic in nature, if you find a block earlier than you statistically should on average you are lucky if it takes longer, you are unlucky
 2) not possible to ELI5 - Cumulative Distribution Function requires advanced mathematics
 3) nothing as it is random and unpredictable - though if it is continually unlucky perhaps you should avoid the pool

Many thanks for the great reply, already learned alot.

Now for the follow up question:

4) How often should a pool statistically find a block, or how long is the statistic time between each block?
5) How is a pool defined as unlucky/lucky?

I simultaneously sympathize and feel sad for this user. Then i read this entire post and felt like facepalming harder than ever.

Sure it sucks to lose ones holding. Especially when it's you livelyhood you are gambling with. I get your frustration, and it must suck. It's gonna propably suck even more before it's gonna get better for you. I would love to tell you that some web angel of gambling would replenish our holding, and you could keep on living your life as you did. The trully sad thing is that this situation was inevitable. The sad tale of soo many before you and soo many after you will follow.

All gamblers, and especially ludomanians like this user, will eventually reach a point where their holding/deposit is swallowed whole. The other sad thing is the steps an addict will go to keep their addiction going. Just look at this sad guy gambling all that he owns, and probably his future too. Ofcourse its his own fault, but good luck with telling that to an addict. He will lie to every one, including him self, to feed his addiction. Plotting devious plan's that no gamblingsites can do anything about (martingale, with alternating win/lose in this case) seems like the surest thing, cause they haven't seen that before, right *wink*.

I feel sad for you dude, and I hope you get some propper help getting on with you life.

I've been curious about these, are there cheapish ones that can handle 1-2kw power draw?

Does one of your units draw out 1-2 kW, or is that a total usage of our rig? If it's only one unit, you might want to contact an electrician, which should have some proper Watt meter on hand. Otherwise just use standard cheap meters at each connection point, and then add up the usage. That would also make it possible to see the usage of each unit in your rig.

I wonder if there isn't a site or forum-post with an overview of investment HYIP's and such, where it is clearly stated which can be trusted, and which are pilles of crap ponzi schemmes.

"netbtc Ltd. is a legal entity in UK. We specializes in Bitcoin mining and trading. We trade on bitcoins and the profit is shared with our investors."

This is literally all the information I can find on your site that describes what your buisness plan consist of. Please don't take this as an insult or anything, but if you expect anybody to invest 22.500 $ (25 BTC), then surely you must have a better or more descriptive plan for securing or investors payments.

What is your largest investor right now (amount wise)?

Re: Bitcoin Gambling Investments

Ok I didn't see this thread before...

I asked a question about a specific casino investment and got a link for this thread.
I'd like to thank you for taking the time and effort to share all this data with us. That's really cool and will help me a lot for chosing!
Of course I know this data is relative and that I can't generalize your experience but still it's very cool to have actual facts to base on in order to make a choice!

Thanks again and congrats for your profit. It's much less than gambling and winning but I guess it's also far safer xD
It's always safe to invest in a casino, house wins all the time. Just stick to it and you will be successful with your journey. Just like you, I appreciated what the OP does for experimenting and it has been proven in our very eyes that it's really profitable.

It is not always safe to invest in a casino.  That is a really dumb thing to say.  In fact it is not always safe to invest in anything.

If you even bothered to look back and read through this thread in full you would see that OP has had some poor returns on some of the casinos that he invested in.

There has also been cases in the past where popular casinos just stole everybodys money and shut up shop.

Then there have also been cases where whales have got lucky and destroyed the bankroll causing huge losses to investors.

Also there is a risk that the casino may get hacked.

To tell people that there is no risk is really irresponsible and very poor advice.

I agree to some extent. Because lets be honest, anything to do with Bitcoins carries a risk, just like opening your front door to a stranger or cooking dinner. My point is that saying anything is risk free is technically not true, but you have to wager with everything in life if its worth it or not. Lets take your examples up:

1) Casinos shuting down and leaving with everybodies money.
This is a very real and obvious risk, that doesn't only happen with casinos but every situation where you deposit BTC, wether it being wallets, casinos, HYIP's and pretty much every loan/investment sites there are. That is why you always want to make sound choices when depositing you BTC anywhere. Is the casinos holding to small/big to be at risk of high rollers or hackers is just one of the things you should worry about and take in to consideration.

2) Whales/High rollers cleaning out casinos.
Again only relevant for small sites, which is has a general higher risk than larger casino sites.

3) Sites getting hacked.
A risk applicable to all sites again, even this. All though I'm not very sure of what to gain from hacking a forum. Here is again a risk that is generally higher for smaller sites, given that larger ones can pay for better security and/or has a team with greater experience and knows how to counter act most black hatters. This said, larger sites also means larger deposits of BTC which makes it more interesting for hackers, but it's a general paranoid mindset that keeps this risk alive.

I have one principle that allways comes in handy in this situation: Don't put money in other peoples hands, that you can't afford to loose. Peace out.

To be honest, I quite like freebitco.in's gambling option, check link: www.freebitco.in, although I know they aren't an actual gaming site but a faucet site. Their High/Low game option i awsome, one of the best out there actually, and you can play with the satoshis you earn every hour from the faucet. This means you can easily come out with a major win without ever depositing a single satoshi.

There are several other great sites, like the one I'm currently promoting, but as always play responsible and don't play with money/BTC you can't afford to lose.

I wish that I had the same amount of refferals as you guys. If only I had a major post with massive activity that sent people straight to the faucet with my refferal link, without them even knowing it.

Sorry for being a bit buthurt, but these faucet sites gives massive bonuses for refferals, and if you don't want to be the creepy uncle at all your family gatherings that keeps talking about Bitcoins being the new great thing, then it is freakingly impossible to get just a couple of refferals.

You could ofcourse just pay members here to signup with your refferal link, but the sites pay so little that you might as well just burn your bitcoins to keep you warm. Or you could try to gamble your way to them, with just the same result, being an empty wallet.

Sorry dude but you are in the wrong place. Head over to the Goods section of Marketplace https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0 if you want to sell your shares.

And good luck as well, with your rating and lacking history probably won't lead to many interested sellers, unless you make the transfer super secure.

Personally. I wouldn't buy one as Sidehack is just about to release a BM1384 miner with better efficiency and hashrate in a pod form, but good luck with your miner; the connectivity issue is way bigger than it seems on paper. That's what deterred me from buying one.

Thanks allot for the update. I was just wondering if another version of the Antminer U3 wouldn't come out soon, since the only way of buying one seems to be second hand from Germany. Do have any idea of when the new BM1384 will be released?

Re: The best cloud mining site !!!

My own experience with hashflare.io has been fairly mixed. Before the halving it was quite awsome. Started with buying 100 Mhs and reinvested up to 170-180 Mhs in a matter of months (about 4-5 i think). Then the halving happened and I'm stuck at 200 Mhs (after 4 months now), and the payments doesn't seem to rise with the increased amounts oh Mhs I own. Keep in mind that the only reason that I've been able to double my Mhs is because they have keept lowering the $/Hs of they SHA-plans, because of "lowering their eletrical cost by improving their hardware".

I would in general not suggest going in to cloud mining.
