Re: why are you afraid of buying bitcoin?

Opportunity they say comes but once, The current crisis rocking the bitcoin presents a rare opportunity for anyone that wants to be wealthy to rush now and invest....soonest the value of bitcoin would pick up.

If you can recall....no one ever thought the value could even rise to what we all enjoyed 6 months ago....it beat popular expert predictions.
In like manner, the value would yet rise maybe higher than what we had seen previously.

My sincere advise to all is simple

INVEST, INVEST AGAIN, INVEST NOW
IN BITCOIN

As 2018 winds down, what is your opinion about bitcoin for 2019?

As 2018 gradually winds to a close, what would be your honest assertion about the outlook of bitcoin in 2019?
Would you toe the line of the believers of the coin (just like me) who have predicted and argued that the coin will do better from 2nd quarter and stabilize at 3rd quarter or would you rather believer the various negatives predicted about the coin?

Re: Bitcoin. What is possibly happening

So today we are in bear market with a huge disbelief

Bitcoin is now going through hard times with stupid hash wars, global critics, you can't buy many things with BTC, I mean you can't live spending only BTC, at least in most countries. Transactions are slow, fees are big. We all know this, however we have Elon Musk, N. Nassim Taleb(visited blockchain conference today - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Da0aXfshlxM&t=1144s) talking on Bitcoin.

I actually don't know if anybody else talked about BTC from realistic point of view. I mean people who is not connected to this crypto-world. Do you know anyone? I mean these mr. W. Buffet quotes are hilarious.

So today everyone knows how to short, many people still in the game but not expecting too much from this. So we can say that it is probably a new period to gain new hype and adoption cycle. I believe next hype cycle will take place when halvening and lighting happens. What are your thoughts on current situation, and how do you see bitcoin or any other crypto being adopted as a paying instrument for anything being such a volatile asset?

Yrgxlrm rh fmhglkkzyov, low hklgh.

Lets keep our hands and minds crossed bitcoin is rising again. It has not really done badly in the first place just reacting to economic outcomes.

Honestly, this is not the time to be in panic mode.

Its time to invest more in bitcoin....buy more now the price is down before it starts rising because it sure will rise from second quarter of 2019 and stabilize its growth trend towards third quarter.
I have always advised investors not to be left out of the gains this price fall portends.

Re: Let's prepare for the worst
by

Let's all be prepared ,the way I'm seeing things I think bitcoin hasn't find its bottom yet ,I'm guessing around 2500$ before we see better recovery ,always remember cryptocurrency is never for the weak ,be prepared and do what you do best ,things will surely turn around but good things never comes easily .

I respect every member that has commented about this post....with all sincerity.
We should always remember that bitcoin like other currencies (say fiat) has its bad times too.
The difference between bitcoin and fiat currency is that unlike bitcoin when a country's fiat is down in value...the country could put up several deliberate economic policies to instigate a rise in value.

For bitcoin and other cryptos....we have to wait for demand forces, the big wig bitcoin traders (whose identity are unknown) among others to scale up the value of bitcoin through their activities.

The honest question is this, will bitcoin further fall?
I think non can give an accurate answer to this question, in the first place no one would have believed that the coin could fall to even $4000 from an all high of about $19,000. As such we can only hope for the best.

Would the price improve any soon?
I am a firm believer in the bitcoin.. as well as a good history student of the bitcoin. At the inception of bitcoin, No one can would have believed that the coin in just a matter of months the coin could be valued at over $5000. The coin beat several experts opinion and rose to the zenith before most of us took it seriously. I believe the coin would do it again.

What's that OP? the stock markets going to crash?

We know

You may be within the TRUTH  but still not expressing facts. The truth is that as much every digital currency is under serious threats...
You may need to realize that this equally affects the stock market and performance of major stocks. It does not imply that stock market is going to crash.

Blockstream Satellite Now Means Most Of The World Can Use Bitcoin Without Internet. What's your opinion on this one? Do you see it as progress or not? Huh

Bitcoin access to blockstream technology only implies that bitcoin and other cryptos are set to be industry leaders in a more sustainable manner.....whether with the internet or not.

Still a lot of discussions about the future of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies surrounding in scientific community. Aren't experts yet convainced that bitcoin is a reality?
In an interview for CNBC, Robert Shiller the professor at Yale University expressed his rather negative sentiment towards Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, saying:

Quote
To me it’s another example of faddish human behavior.
Link to the interview: https://www.c[Suspicious link removed]m/2018/05/21/bitcoin-could-be-another-failed-currency-robert-shiller-says.html

Shiller consolidated his opinions on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in a long post from where i prefered to take this note:

Quote
Practically no one, outside of computer science departments, can explain how cryptocurrencies work, and that mystery creates an aura of exclusivity, gives the new money glamour, and fills devotees with revolutionary zeal, […] None of this is new, and, as with past monetary innovations, a seemingly compelling story may not be enough.

Funny enough, the most LEARNED are not always the most informed: When we are talking of blockchain Technology, Crypto ATM and making fianancial transactions much simpler.... a PROF seems unaware of what is pilling  up?

As at 16th December, 2017 a unit of bitcoin was worth an equivalent of $16,600.00 ( source Bloomberg 2018).

Some days later, Bitcoin’s price peaked to $19,511, before it began an epic slippery slope movement that would see the original crypto currency lose approximately 82 percent of it is value. As i write the value of bitcoin is averaging $4,000.

Various analysts have argued that the initial drastic rise in its price are due to several factors ranging from irrational optimism; aggregate market irrationality; cynical speculation, poorly informed investors among others.

In all honesty don't you think investing in stocks now makes better business sense than investing in bitcoin?

I believe that bitcoin would still be very much around judging from the sampled opinions; bitcoin though has more risks is yet more profitable compared to investments made in stocks.

2018 wasn't a good year for most company, the Price declination is affecting almost every investment field just as tunapa said, but the media just focus only on cryptocurrency because their FUD is either a sponsored one or they see it as a threat to their centralized mode of practice. From the image below you can see the decline in price based on market capitalization is far bigger then the total market capitalization of the cryptocurrency market..

I hope with these glaring facts, they would stop hitting at bitcoin and other alternate coins. Thanks for this graphic update.

Nonetheless, from every available predictions the global economy would pick up from second quarter of 2019, we should expect that bitcoin would pick up. I would advise everyone to take advantage of this period and make more investments in bitcoin now.

There is a global debt of $256 Trillion dollars that the interest payments are soon to be a HUGE problem for everyone.

The US added $10 Trillion in debt to cover up the housing crisis and other wastes of "money" since 2008

The Euro is shit since the Greece bailout and Italy still wants to devalue their currency...

UK and Euro splitting/fighting doesn't help with that at all.

The housing market EVERYWHERE is ridiculously expensive now.

The stock market in the US will likely crash because the money used to invest in it will have to be devalued.

2019 is Gold or Bitcoin for most people's "money" because Fiat has been printed to have ZERO value... this is so obvious.

WOW......that means for sure that the bitcoin is sure to rise up faster than stocks among other new fiat securities

So not only bitcoin, Technology Stocks like Facebook, Amazon.. have declined too
by

on 16/12/2018, 08:10:58 UTC
So not just the bitcoin/ cryptocurrency market is experiencing sharp decline in value?
As revealed by 'The Economists' in a 2018 publication https://www.economist.com/finance-and-economics/2018/11/24/a-retreat-in-share-prices-finally-reaches-tech-stocks.... they pointed out that even the tech stocks of six major companies known as FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple,Netflix, Google) have experienced sharp declines in value of their respective stocks due to retreats in global economy positions.

So it is obvious that even big tech stocks are  not immune to the receding global economy's position.

Nonetheless, from every available predictions the global economy would pick up from second quarter of 2019, we should expect that bitcoin would pick up. I would advise everyone to take advantage of this period and make more investments in bitcoin now.

It still seems to be waiting for a lower decline, still thinking prices will fall again. Since capital has not been collected, it cannot be bought yet. Actually, you want to buy, but the capital is minimal, who knows the price of btc will turn again so that there is enough capital to collect btc. Hhh ...

Your contribution indicates that yourself and most others are not well-informed about the cyptocurrency industry. The truth is that every currency even the strongest of the likes of (dollars, Pounds, etc) often go through slippery slope sometimes before bouncing back. My take is that the bitcoin has not even gone that low to justify the perceived panic.

I would advice anybody to invest in the coin NOW to take maximum benefits when the value increases which would start any moment soon.

Does bitcoin hold the answer to the many challenges of fiat currency?
by
Attisob
on 14/12/2018, 06:55:59 UTC
Economists and financial experts have alluded to the fact that fiat currency have been encumbered  by several challenges.
Some of which include the costs of printing and allocation.....
the cost of moving it from place to place ( security)
the cost associated with storing (saving)
the cost associated with inherent loss of value due to inflationary pressures and so on.

If bitcoin holds the answer to some or all these issues, then the implication is that the prospects of the bitcoin is grater than any of us can imagine.

Re: Can bitcoin penetrate the market of developing countries soonest?
by

Bitcoin has been hailed as a revolution in the past many years but one thing that is stifling this revolution is the lack of massive adoption by the people. Well, we have to remember that in the global marketplace it is going to be the users that can determine the life or death of anything. When there is a big demand for anything, you can be sure that the price can increase otherwise things will be going south. As of now, there remains the very slow progress on the adoption of Bitcoin especially in third-world countries and it can be because the right infrastructure is still not there and the fact that it can be taking time for Bitcoin to penetrate as there is no massive investment on advertising here unlike many multi-national companies which got money to burn on telling people on the beauty and advantages of their products or services...relying on the power of mouth can only do much for Bitcoin. Plus the fact that there remains the stigma attached to Bitcoin due to many scams that utilized Bitcoin as their mode of payment so there are many people who are afraid of Bitcoin (this is of course aside from its sordid volatility).

Yea, i agree with you brother especially on the issue of infrastructure deficits that characterize third world nations. This challenge has been hugely worsen by proliferating incidences of public sector led corruption and the likes.
Bitcoin and alternate coins still hold huge prospects especially in countries like India, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana,  etc.

Yeah, good days are ahead just keep up hope. Bitcoin would bounce back even stronger.

Can bitcoin penetrate the market of developing countries soonest?
by
Attisob
on 14/12/2018, 01:24:40 UTC
Talking about the declining value of the bitcoin plus that of other cryptocurrencies- in recent times, various concerned bitcoin enthusiasts, scholars, traders etc have argued that the value of bitcoin is determined by several factors among which the forces of demand and supply seem to resonate actively.
The question therefore is, what can be done to deepen the bitcoin market in developing countries of Africa, Asia, Latin America and the likes?
The rationale is this, if the degree of acceptance (demand) for bitcoin in these frontiers increase its only sure that the value of bitcoin would increase as well.

Does the Value of bitcoin depend on economic dynamics?
by
Attisob
on 13/12/2018, 22:24:52 UTC

Like every fiat currency today, bitcoin has assumed the position of a currency though typified as a crypto-currency. But in reality, it is obvious that the value of any country's currency depends to a large extent on her economic dynamics and activities (demand, supply, external reserve, level of production, etc.) . By that i mean, the strength of an economy determines the strength or purchasing power of her currency against those of others.

On this basis what can we allude to be the cause of the recent decline in value of bitcoin?

This is because, the United States, China, Europe etc experienced mild growth in the 2018 fiscal year as such one would have expected an improvement in the value of bitcoin just as the value of those other countries have either stabilized or improved.

Re: Its Bitcoin a good way to save money for our kids?
by

on 13/12/2018, 21:51:05 UTC

A friend of mine started to save money in BTC for his son.
Now he is in worry about the idea because of this last dropping months.

I told him to re-load some BTC up to lower the average.
If you have any suggestions about this please share

Its BTC a good way to save money for our kids?
Will this pay them a car? the university? a house? nothing at all?

This is an issue that i would not ask any body to take in a haste. Even though, i have great faith in bitcoin as well as other cryptocurrencies, i would suggest one gives bitcoin sometime lets see the dynamic volatility effect of bitcoin especially over say the next five years perhaps ten before one could proceed with such endeavour. Offcourse, anything that has to do with the security of once children and their future is not what we should do without some degree of certainty about the assets one is investing in.
