That´s weird, it should be doing around 30 USD/day for a 5-6 month ROI without residual value...
If you take the residual value into account it should even be only 4 months... but 8,3 months seems a lot to me...

The Barebones unit is 2.000 Euro since the same work goes into building one of these as goes into a "full" unit, we simply substract the card price, we will add that option to the website this week (we are a bit overworked right now, we´re just a small team) 

I know that the 1070´s would fit as well, but we noticed that we get slightly more "bang for the buck" on the 1060 models, the 1070 is a bit overpriced imho but maybe that´s just in Europe?!

We just wanted to let you know that we have taken your advice and put a plan into action: All new Autominer Gen. 3 will be fitted with 8GB of RAM and a upgraded CPU.

As some of you may already know GPU´s are realy hard to come by right now, we have however managed to secure 130 NVIDIA GPU´s and are waiting for delivery, hopefully next week. In the meantime we decided to test a "entry level" version that will be quite a bit cheaper, we will update here once the prototype is finished!

We believe that only if entry into the crypto-space is easy and relatively cheap, the true spirit of decentralized currency can be sustained.

On a sidenote: We now also offer our units "barebone", just add cards! That way old/spare cards can be put into effective use with very little effort.

Thank you very much for that first review! Also a little insider tip: If you leave the case closed while its running, the cards in the middle run a bit cooler and the whole unit is slighly more efficient due to the reversed 2x 200mm fans sucking the air out to the front.

We hit a little bump due to us getting a "bad memory" delivery on the NVIDIA cards (Hynix) so we will have to send them back and order new ones.
This would set our delivery date back a little but if it´s mainly zcash you want to mine with them the memory won´t have quite as much impact, so we can still send that to you if you´re ok with having a little worse ETH hashrates...

The cards have the usual warranty from the manufacturer, anything else that isn´t covered by their warranty, will be replaced by us unless it is from "misstreatment"

Yeah we could do that at some point but since we mainly have it for compliance reasons and not realy for the user it´s not very high on the priorities list...

Yeah haha that was kind of a insider for the guys who ordered our Gen. 2 because we used to have the slogan: "Bigger and Better" when we introduced it but I didn´t realize how confusing it would be to everyone else...  

We built 3 new prototypes within 6 Months so this one customer was a little angry when we told him there is a new one just as he bought the old one so we droped that slogan as not to confuse anyone else. Should maybe drop the Gen. 3 one as well as a consequence but maybe it will make sense again once we introduce Gen. 4 but we aren´t (officially) working on that yet...

On a side note: If enough people want a Gen. 1 revival (it was super silent for home use with a insulated, filtered case) we can make a batch of 10 or so!

Yes, the NVIDIA version is pretty good for that, maybe not for a living room but if you have a cellar, garage or a (vented) closet it will be pretty silent... of course it also depends on the temperature, the cooler, the quieter it works.

We have no fotos of the interior simply to keep our advantage for a little longer, if we had them online right away, we would have people offering the same thing within weeks.
I was hoping that this way we get a head start by already getting reviews in by the time the other guys are still in the design phase. It´s not a big secret and nothing we can patent but it took us quite a bit of playing around to figure out how to get it into such a "small" case and still make every cable etc. fit.
