Re: BitcoinPornDirectory.com - #1 directory of ADULT sites that accept Bitcoin -NSFW

Not sure how often you go over the list and update them but you might want to add the last updated date to your list.
- I would like to also suggest adding the processor's names for each [some of them tend to limit users based on their location].

- Crypto was once the perfect solution for cam site payments, but increased transaction fees make that difficult if using BTC and buying small amounts.
IMO, it's still the perfect solution but people in general, aren't educated enough when it comes to its proper fee usage [there are various ways for lowering and dealing with fees].

I know its a late reply but I appreciate the suggestion. I'm curious which processors in particular you've had trouble with, I can maybe look out for those. I'm also curious about dealing with fees, are you talking about things like Lightning/layer 2, or something else?

Almost 2 years later and lots has changed.

Ironically many of the larger porn companies (Pornhub) and studios (Naughty America, etc) accept Bitcoin but many of the smaller producers have actually stopped.

My thoughts:
- smaller producers are worried about the lack of recurring revenue. It is scary.
- Pornhub now ONLY accepts crypto for payment. Out of necessity, but still a huge move for such a large company. Payment processors should be worried.
- Crypto was once the perfect solution for cam site payments, but increased transaction fees make that difficult if using BTC and buying small amounts.
- IMO if Onlyfans starts accepting Bitcoin that would be huge.

Another thing worth mentioning is recurring payments. Many of these porn sites make money off recurring payments. Many people sign up with credit cards and then let it auto renew. None of the porn sites I've seen have a great way of renewing a membership with BTC. It's clunly.

Unfortunately It's hard for companies to understand that by offering Bitcoin they are getting NEW customers that they wouldn't have received before, not losing customers to a lower LTV payment method.

Its too bad PornHub accepting Bitcoin is seen as a reaction to them getting blacklisted by mainstream payment processors. Makes BTC seem like the "sketchy" alternative. IMO Pornhub WAS doing the best job at being a "mainstream" porn site. Any sites that allow users to upload content is going to have the problems they had. YouTube even has those types of problems...

That being said, tons of content producing porn companies have been accepting BTC for years. Most of the major studios do. Verotel (one of the largest payment processors for small niche studios) used to accept BTC as well. Unfortunately they stopped when Bitpay stopped allowing adult services. I suspect with verotel at least 1000+ adult sites were able to accept BTC. I've been trying to bug them to find a way to accept it again... Hopefully this most recent bull run does the trick.

If you're curious what porn sites accept BTC right now you can check out a site I've been putting together: https://bitcoinporndirectory.com

Most of these site lists are dead or not actual. BitcoinPornSite.com appears to have a list of porn sites, mostly cam sites accepting Bitcoin.

Check out https://bitcoinporndirectory.com for a more complete list.

Unfortunately some big payment processors in the porn space stopped taking Bitcoin but there are still quite a few beyond just cam sites...

The problem is you have to convince 2 things. First, convince people to pay for pornography when they can find most things online for free. Second, convince people to use their Bitcoin to pay for the porn. It's a big hassle I think and that's why it hasn't taken off. Or maybe demographics of porn payers are just not Bitcoin users?

Those two things are actually quite a bit easier than you might think. Many people pay for porn, especially when it comes to live cam websites like camsoda.com, chaturbate.com, and even bitcoinporncams.com...

Hassle? Isn't the whole point of Bitcoin that it should be easy to use and spend? If I were going to pay for porn I would much rather use my Bitcoin than a credit card. No need to worry about giving out personal details, or sketchy recurring charges.

People have no problem watching brutally gory and violent TV shows and movies, and even let their children watch them. The thought of seeing a pair of tits on TV sends some of those same people into hysteria.

Anything in excess can be bad. Social media, alcohol, TV, porn, and even Bitcoin.

Naughty America are still accepting bitcoin. You can even get a discount Naughty America membership by following this link https://www.discountedporn.com/deal/naughty-america .

I have heard some pretty bad things about Naughty America not paying affiliates and talent. Would much rather support models directly via a cam site like bitcoinporncams.com.

Unfortunately HUNDREDS of Adult sites no longer are accepting Bitcoin due to Bitpay not accepting adult content. Verotel used Bitpay and has yet to implement a replacement. According to this post they are still working on finding a suitable replacement: https://bitcoinporndirectory.com/verotel-bitpay-and-the-ever-changing-bitcoin-payment-landscape/

@Xotika - Sent you a PM.

As an update, as many of you may already be aware, BitPay banned adult websites from using its services back in February. As a result, many adult sites were left stranded. In particular, Verotel payments, which was previously used by over 100 adult sites to accept Bitcoin, no longer has the option to signup with Bitcoin.

Currently the number of adult sites that accept Bitcoin has dropped significantly. However, I have been told that Verotel is working on integrating a replacement.

There is even a guy in the forum that owns a porn site focused on BTC, i think he goes by the site's name "BTCPorn" or somthing along that line.
ha ha
the title will greatly attract customers "BTCporn" collaboration between bitcoin and porn
and I think both sides will be equally profitable in this case, but I'm also a bit risky if bitcoin, in association with pornography. it will slightly tarnish the good name of bitcoin

Don't you think the Silk Road already 'tarnished' the name of Bitcoin?

The fact is that the Porn industry has been a huge driver of technology over the past 30 years. VHS, DVD. You can read a good post about how porn drives tech here: http://www.businessinsider.com/how-porn-drives-innovation-in-tech-2013-7

Porn is a big industry, and just like gambling tied to bitcoin in the beginning, it will be perfectly normal that porn will attempt to do the same now. The relation wont just be with bitcoin. In fact I think it will be much easier to relate porn with ethereum (with the creation of ICOs), and with coins that offer more privacy than bitcoin (like monero). New projects are created in the ethereum network, to allow users to create content and don't be "robbed" by the middle man. This looks like a great setup for porn webcams for example.

Smart contracts + tipping with porn webcams would be interesting. I'm a huge believer that Cryptocurrencies are going to revolutionize the porn webcam industry (I even wrote an article a while back here: http://bitcoinporndirectory.com/will-bitcoin-revolutionize-the-live-cam-industry. I think it remains to be see which coin will win, but its an obvious progression considering most of these cam sites like Chaturbate use 'tokens' already.

I wonder if a lovense vibrator activated by a smart contract is something we will see in the near future  Grin  Grin.

I think Bitcoin and porn go hand in hand. There are definitely a lot of porn sites that accept it already, but there are some fairly large networks that are holding out as well...

I think Vorotel is a good example of what can happen when a large payment processor accepts Bitcoin. Hundreds of adult sites began accepting Bitcoin basically overnight with no additional work needed to integrate it.

Get a company like CCBill onboard and there would be even more acceptance in the adult industry.

I highly doubt Nvidia or AMD had any part in creating Bitcoin as a way to increase demand for their products.

That being said, they sure are benefiting from it, and they certainly would benefit from ensuring that PoW continues to be the dominant force of the blockchain.

Re: Bitcoin, is it an English ONLY wallet?

Even if it all these exchanges in Asia are using it in their backend it shouldn't be a surprise. Many international developers program in English, and use English software.

As a standalone wallet I would say that the majority of Bitcoin 'users/owners' have never used Bitcoin Core. Most people use other wallets or online services/exchanges (e.g. Coinbase).

More sites added! .. and some removed Sad

One thing I have noticed is that people are now paying for more months at a time, in addition to paying with CC. Likely due to the large fees we are seeing on the network now. It is nice to see that people are still using Bitcoin for payments though.

Some interesting stats:

There are already hundreds of porn sites that accept Bitcoin. Yes, you read that correctly, hundreds (maybe thousands?). Verotel alone has hundreds of sites that accept Bitcoin payments.

Even with the large transaction fees people are still paying for porn with Bitcoin. It makes sense, you get high quality, on-demand porn with none of the hassle and headache of credit card payments. No sneaky rebills, and no embarassing credit card statements.

You have sites specifically for Bitcoin popping up like http://bitcoinporncams.com and http://strip4bit.com and then hundreds of other mainstream sites that see the benefit in accepting crypto. If you don't believe me just check out the lists here: http://bitcoinporndirectory.com/bitcoin-porn-list/

In the past, the porn industry has paved the way with new technology. Why do you think BluRay become the standard over HD-DVD? Porn adoption (HD-DVD was arguably better).

Re: Somebody just become billionaire with bitcoin, any words?
by
BCMB
on 06/12/2017, 06:33:55 UTC
Assuming the initial investment made to be around the 2012-13 mark, it was a pretty big gamble they took and it definitely paid off. From $120 to $12k is x100 in itself and with a $11 million investment back then, they have turned into billionaires! Wouldn't be surprised to hear more stories of early investors turning into billionaires by today as we're eyeing the $15k mark before 2018!

These Winklevoss brothers are one of the most popular investors in Bitcoin and I think there are more who remained anonymous or do not want any limelight focused on them as they are enjoying watching their Bitcoin soared into the sky and becoming billionaires too. It was indeed a big gamble for anyone to invest millions in those years when nobody can be sure what can happen with Bitcoin in the future. As proven by the twins, the gamble paid off big time because Bitcoin as the first and the original viable cryptocurrency made it to the moon. Aside from these Bitcoin billionaires, there are also many who became millionaires in the process as long as they never sold off their Bitcoin hoard when the price was already enticing. As the journey of Bitcoin continues, there would be more riches to be made although this time we really need a bigger capital if we plan to have a sizable Bitcoin holding.

I agree. I actually have my doubts on whether the twins are the first BTC billionaires (or half-billionaires). There could be other individuals that have just as much but have it spread across multiple addresses.
