Re: SLEEPING GIANTS WAKE UP?

I think ADA, IOTA and XSPEC will go up significantly. In their respective fields, these coins are quite undervalued. I am also hopeful about BAT. From among these, XSPEC has the lowest market cap, so if that one goes popular, its price will shoot up a lot more than it will do for the rest.

Not at all. Coins with good fundamentals will still grow a lot. On the long timescale somewhere between x10 and x100. Although x1000 is only possible with currently undervalued small cap coins and quite some research and luck.  Wink This is not financial advice, but my favourite among the small cap coins is Spectrecoin. See it yourself at https://spectreproject.io.

I'm still quite bullish on Spectrecoin (XSPEC). Not that this is the only one with buying now, but I'm pretty sure that this small market cap coin will shoot out once the bear cycle is over. This is one of the few low cap coins that have solid fundamentals and yet still very undervalued.

Monero is certainly awesome as many noted before me, and it will be around for a long while, but I don't think there will be only one winner of this race. To be honest, I am rather rooting for a PoS contender, Spectrecoin, and if only one vote can be cast, I vote for this one. At some point, the advantages of PoS over PoW will flip this race.

In my portfolio, I consider XSPEC the most undervalued coin. PoS privacy coin soon with stealth staking with a new dev team finally with a solid project funding, an updated white paper and roadmap. From the development side, the project finally gets the right amount of attention that it deserves, and I believe it will soon become popular on the markets as well. Read this first to learn about the project: https://www.coindesk.com/stealth-staking-privacy-coin-plan-mask-proof-of-stake/.

Check out XSPEC at https://spectreproject.io. My most promising small cap coin. Great privacy tech with PoS v3 and even better is coming: stealth staking! As I can see it, the new development team is pushing hard to get the project rolling again after the most recent fork that provides them stable project funding too. But don't believe me, do a bit of research, check out the white paper and read the recent news about Spectrecoin yourself. Start with this for example: https://www.coindesk.com/stealth-staking-privacy-coin-plan-mask-proof-of-stake/.

I usually don't set such specific multipliers as a goal to achieve, but x3 I find actually quite modest. At least on the long term, and for short term who can tell really? Anyway, small cap coins grow easier, and my smallest cap investment is Spectrecoin, check it out at https://spectreproject.io. Good privacy tech, Proof of Stake, ambitious goals, new dev team with long term funding. I would be disappointed if it would only grow x3 let's say within the next 12 months!  Grin

Re: My top alt coins that will see biggest gains by 2020

By 2020, I think, both privacy and Proof of Stake will earn more popularity. And in the intersection of the two there are only a few coins, like XSPEC and CLOAK for example. I have invested in both. I am however somewhat more excited about XSPEC at the moment for two reasons. One is the new development team with stable funding, and the other is the soon to come tech of stealth staking, which will increase the privacy of the whole network a lot. Besides, the currently very low market cap of the coin can be inflated easily once we enter a bull cycle again.

Spectrecoin hahaha how it come this crap coin is not dead yet ? Market cap 6M USD (lol) listed on 4 exchanges, actively traded on 2 exchanges with daily volume lower then 5k usd (mega lol) owners of this shit coin are true bagholders.

So buy all these XVG,XSPEC,PHR and other "undervalued" shicoins which that old man (clown) shilled, take a bank loan and buy them all you will be rich !

Not dead yet? Maybe you placed a bet that it would be dead by now?  Grin

I don't get your argument. All small cap coins are crap, or what? Or everything is crap that is not traded on Binance right away? Everything began small, I guess, we can agree on that. So what is the timescale for growth under which you call a coin crap? What growth curve a coin should follow so that it classifies something more than a shitcoin? Many people call Bitcoin a shitcoin for having a small marketcap! The whole crypto market cap 200 Billion at the moment it is really not much if you compare it to how much fiat money is circulating in the world. Anyway, if price is your only argument, then I am fine with my "crap" investments. And now I am talking about XSPEC in particular. Let me know if you can criticise the current dev team or the tech behind the coin, because I believe these matter a lot more than the current price.

Re: WHAT COIN IS WORTH HOLDING FOR ATLEAST A YEAR FROM NOW?
by

Wow, quite some support for XSPEC here! There is actually one more important argument for this coin, that I couldn't find in the last few posts, but it is very important IMO. There is now a new, bigger dev team with stable funding now. Many criticise this as leading to centralisation, etc, but I almost exclusively lay my money in projects that is not developed by a guy or two on weekends or when they feel like, but by a proper dev team with long term funding. I find it rather obvious, especially in case of smaller projects, that a solid income for the dev team leads to a lot quicker development. And as long as something is open source, it cannot really be centralised. Besides, name just one 100% decentralised coin. There's none. I am really happy that XSPEC is finally lead by a proper team. The idea, the project itself totally deserves it.

I agree to a degree with a above opinions, that big coins are safe etc... However, well selected small coins can have a much bigger potential to grow! You always see many small coins grow a lot faster than eg. BTC in bull markets, almost indifferently to their fundamentals. But of course one should pick coins for longer term investment that have good fundamentals too. One of my smallest market-cap coin is XSPEC, in that I see a promise of sustainable price increase. Check it out at https://spectreproject.io. Now that it has a new and much bigger dev team with solid funding, I placed quite a chunk of my otherwise colourful portfolio in this coin.

Re: 🔥 High potential projects with extremely low market caps 🔥
by

Many have mentioned XPSEC and I do agree with that being a potential moonshot over the next couple years, just don't think it's an overnight thing.

Some other small caps with potential are SHIFT, EVEREX and OAX.

I agree that it won't happen overnight, but indeed, I also expect XSPEC to grow a lot. But to be honest, overnight price explosions are mostly unsustainable. They implode in most cases, unless the reason is some really good news, regarding the fundamentals or the mass adoption of the project. Apart from that, small coins can go up and down a lot without apparent reason, like small boats tossed about on the big ocean of BTC and co. As for XSPEC, I find the new full time dev team and the stable funding a very good recent development that should (probably also on a shorter timescale) lead to some significant price action.

I have taken time to do a very good research on this coin and I think it is very good and will have a very bright future but I want to wait a bit more maybe when the market recover from the bear before I will invest in the coin.

Of course, I respect your approach @davida, and I absolutely never push anyone to buy this or that, but in my opinion, there are many signs that the bear market is (probably) more or less over, and bear markets typically hit small altcoins far more than bigger coins, on the other hand, bull markets raise the small boats quicker than the big ones. Every coin correlates differently, but I think Warren Buffet was right when he said "Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful". Even if this may be the only thing he said that is applicable and true to crypto.

Guys, please someone tell me, how is it still possible that the full client for Windows still does not support encryption of the wallet.dat file?! IMHO this should be there in version 0.0.0.1 alpha. Am I misunderstanding something obvious here? I have been waiting for this very trivial feature provided by all other cryptos that I know, but still, on GitHub there is still the same security warning: no encryption! Please, tell me there is a good reason for this, even though I cannot imagine yet what that could possibly be.
This is certanly not an trivial thing!
The issue comes from the original Zcash code where due to "stability problems", wallet encryption was disabled.
 https://github.com/zcash/zcash/issues/2011

Vaklinov (Dev) commented on 18 Nov 2017

The ZEN private keys are stored in the wallet.dat file by the ZEN core node and it does not yet support encryption at file level. For that matter ZCash does not support encryption yet either... Encryption will surely be supported in the future.

One ZEN wallet that already supports encryption is Arizen:
https://github.com/ZencashOfficial/arizen

So that issue, you are referring to was posted first in January 2017! And ever since wallet encryption couldn't be solved? It was supposed to be disabled temporarily, right? Then when will it be fixed? In 2020? I am not working on the field but encrypting a bunch of strings with a password does not seem to be a very sophisticated thing to do. especially that it is already implemented in so many applications nowadays, you even password protect your HBO subscription, and exactly this privacy oriented wallet client that supposed to safeguard your savings cannot be password protected. I find it very starnge.

Btw, if someone wants to make use the privacy features of the Z addresses, the full wallet is better suited for this, than Arizen. Arizen is not a replacement for the full wallet, it is only an alternative with advantages and downsides to it.

My picks are: ETH, ADA, IOTA, BAT, XSPEC
The last one is a very low mcap coin, but the devs are pushing very hard and they are about to add some quite awesome privacy features to this PoS coin. My opinion is that this coin will jump quite soon. It doubled in price the last month, due to favourable media coverage. IMHO, this coin has at the moment the best future potential / current price ratio.

Re: Best privacy coin?
by
Babber
on 06/08/2018, 12:29:05 UTC
For me the best privacy coin is still monero. monero has been a popular alternative cryptocurrency among enthusiasts who favor anonymity over privacy and sits in the background serving its purpose as a useful and private digital currency.

At some point Proof of Stake will be refined enough to provide a security to a network comparable to that of PoW, and then it will be practically superior to that. The fact that it hasn't happened yet is because it is a tougher / more complex problem than securing a network with PoW, and there is also the historical reason of Bitcoin, the first one being based on PoW. Plus there is a hype about it. Interestingly enough, people get emotional sometimes about this PoS vs PoW debate. I think this stems from the BTC maximalism...

Otherwise I really love the idea of Monero, even though I don't hold any of it at the moment for the above reason.

Re: [ANN][CLOAK] Private, Secure, Untraceable & Decentralized Digital Currency

Hey guys,

I am new to CloakCoin. I have a technical issue, I hope someone can help me out. So I installed the wallet on Ubuntu as described at https://github.com/CloakProject/2.0.2.1-Wallets#linux-installation , I could sync, the blockchain is downloaded, but so far the GUI did not open for me, not once. So basically I am stuck at step 6 and I only know from the log file that the blockchain got synced, but otherwise there is no GUI that I can interact with. Any idea?

Hi! Please join our chat room: chat.cloakcoin.com

I don't know but it sounds you have not installed necessary libs. qt5 libs and so? to run the GUI wallet.

That can well be. I only installed the ones listed under step 5 in the above description. Is there somewhere a full list of dependencies one needs to install? If you could copy or link this list here, that would be nice, alternatively I go to the chat room.

And thanks for the quick reply, btw. Smiley
