Always keep in mind the quality and depth of the development team.  Yes these are open source but what distinguishes similar Blockchains from each other is the depth and competency of the devs.  It’s easy to copy existing technology, not so easy to develop it into the future if the quantity and quality of devs is wanting.

Re: BITCOIN ARMORY CONCERNS?

It's been recently updated on github. The support is informal, but is present.  Some of the problems I was having have been fixed in recent update.  Can't believe it's not being sold at this point as one of the best and most secure wallets. Great system.  Store most of mine in cold on Armory.

Personally, I think if you wait until Aug 1, it will already be too late to catch bottom.  Either Segwit2x succeeds (it appears likely). and price turns, or we have chaos for a while and it will be a very long recovery. I'm starting to get back in the water. Recommending same to friends. If I'm wrong, I guess I'll find out how good my friends are....  but seriously, just in case, at delivery move your coins to a secure wallet.  Don't leave Bitcoin on an exchange.

Not really useful to simplify an extremely complex difficult discussion that has been argued by actual experts in the field with differing opinions and objectives into a single unhelpful statement.  The only useful part was yes, search for information.  Almost no one involved is actually trying to harm Bitcoin is my read after months of searching.  I can't say what is right because all involved have real concerns.

Foolishly thought some people here were rational humans capable of thought.  Sorry, I was in the wrong place.  Go back to your virtual worlds.  Don't bother posting me.  Out of this going back to real life and rational beings who don't live life speculating on things they really don't know about.  Have a nice day folks.

You people are pathetic. So much for presumed innocent until proven guilty. It makes me think you have a personal vendetta against him. Maybe your guy didn't make the cut for Bitcoin foundation.  Maybe work for Visa MasterCard or a major bank that is threatened by Bitcoin. Are you lobbyists?   Have you been consigned to disrupt the Bitcoin ecosystem and take everyone eye off of the real goal of spreading the word about how Bitcoin and other alt currencies will disrupt the old boys club of international wealth and let mainstream people bank for themselves without fees and restrictions?  Maybe you're too naïve to understand that there are legal proceedings in which innocent people are not allowed to speak about it. The inability to speak about a legal case does not imply guilt.  Yet many of you are ready to crucify Mr. Pierce without any personal knowledge of him or any circumstances surrounding allegations.  At best you're ill informed and naive, at worst you are hired guns trying to bring us all down and hiding like cowards behind internet anonymity.

Re: Why did you buy bitcoin today?

Same reason I bought Apple years ago when everything was tanking.  Researched reasons then bought.  Believe in it long term. Don't need the cash right now. Other uses beside as currency, the blockchain that is.   Measured buys with every drop. Not putting "life changing" amounts in though because this is speculation.  It could all end... But I doubt it.  This is China getting out. We still have Silk Road coins to absorb someday too don't forget.

Note:  always check out the address and site.  It's very easy to take a photo like that and cut and paste another's address.  Healthy skepticism will help protect integrity.  Should have a site in that sign for reference.

How will you handle that little "trust" issue?  (You send the the Bitcoin, then I'll send you the money... no you send me the money then I'll send you the Bitcoin.)  Huh??
