The title should be named $1,000 when?

Then my answer would be Late 2015.

$10,000 not in the next few years and probably never.

I Love BTC, but any honest look has to reveal that the transactions take WAY to long.

Transactions are almost instant. You got something wrong.

Re: After all that happened, if Dorian really is Satoshi...
by
BidcoinBernd
on 16/03/2014, 05:24:33 UTC
Wait I'm confused. Are there people on here who seriously buy this crap about him being the real Satoshi? I mean understand people who know nothing about Bitcoin and just saw the story on the news believing it but... seriously, members on this forum?

He only fools dumb people / the media with his charade.

You can see he just pretends to be clueless.
He worked his entire career with communications, maths, programming in high profile jobs and had time to research bitcoin after being harrassed by a reporter several weeks ago.
Statements like "i never communicated with bitcoins", "bitcom, errr bitcoin!" are just too forced by him. You can tell he acts.

And Satoshi and Dorian are the only 2 persons in the world who use two spaces after the period on the internet.
(A few people still in denial will tell me everyone does this but i have never seen it once in 14 years of heavy internet usage)

I'd say 80% he just pretends to be clueless and invented bitcoin all by himself and 20% he was part of a team.

Bitcoiners are just mad and in denial because some crappy news magazine found him.

Re: World War 2, part (b)
by

A good way to get a head of future market moves is to game out important scenarios, i.e. ones which result in market moves.  I think WW2b is an important scenario.  Here's my WW2b scenario:

Occupied Crimea votes independence from Ukraine.
Ukraine mobilizes military in eastern Ukraine.
Putin invades eastern Ukraine to "protect ethnic Russians".
Ukrainian military retreats.
NATO enters Ukraine.
Ukraine military re-enters eastern Ukraine.
Putin escalates in eastern Ukraine.
Ukraine military retreats.
NATO in force.
NATO - Russian air conflict, Russia suffers loses.
NATO - Russian ground conflict, NATO suffers loses.
NATO uses tactical nukes.
Putin nukes New York.

How does this scenario affect Bitcoin?

Are there scenarios in Transdniestra or the Baltics which are more likely to escalate than the more narrowly focused conflict in Ukraine?

If putin nukes new york the us will drop multiple nukes on russia and russia will drop even more nukes on the usa.
The major submarine internet cables would be destroyed and as a result the internet would split in a few large chunks forcing the blockchain to fork.
The value of bitcoin would drop by 99,99% and you wish you had invested in gold.

Of course he is Satoshi. People are still in denial?
Both use double spaces. Chance of coincidence is like generating two identical keypairs.

If he is the real Satoshi or not, he is a man of principle and money/bitcoin is not the most important thing in his life. Leave the man alone. I know it is hard for most of you to believe that some people do not put money first in their life. He likes his privacy. If you ask him, he would tell you to keep your damn charity. He does not want or need your handout. Maybe you should just ask him first so you do not insult him.

Wow, you really know him well.

I don't know, he was quick to demand a free lunch.

Haha, this. First thing he does is to sell the interview to the reporter with the lunch.

Re: I bet that this it NOT Satoshi Nakamoto
by
BidcoinBernd
on 07/03/2014, 19:09:06 UTC
This was the result after I voted:
Yes    - 22 (21.8%)
No    - 79 (78.2%)

I just want to ask those 22people(21.8%) that what makes them think that he's real Satoshi Nakamoto ..! I'm not trying to prove anything but I want to know there perspective too..! Want to know how strong there claims are.! Because Most of the info i gathered is from this forum and everyone here is claiming he's not satoshi .. and i can understand they have enough substance in their claims. so I believe so , but want to know more , someones perspective who thinks he's real

I think 70:30 it is him / he is involved.

1. His work background.
2. His name is Satoshi Nakamoto.
3. He uses 2 spaces after the point too. His writing style is different but this might be because of his stroke or he simply doesn't care outside of professional work.
4. Hackernews article about one of the first physical bitcoin accepted businesses who recognized him as their first customer. (could be bogus)
5. Trying hard to look simple and uneducated in the interview (where is my food? I never communicated with bitcoins and even called it bitcom) despite his professional background. I'm pretty sure he would at least look up what bitcoin is after being harrassed by a reporter about it. Even if he's not the 'real Satoshi' he should be a really clever man.

The question is why he didn't cash out a little bit. Sounds like he and his family could need it.

Re: 95% sure I found Satoshi Nakamoto
by
BidcoinBernd
on 07/03/2014, 18:39:50 UTC
I'm specifically talking about English vs. American spelling. I.e. words like flavour vs. flavor, colour vs. color etc. We already know that Nakamoto used English spelling in his personal communication, so unless you believe this was a deliberate setup, we can pretty much exclude all U.S. born citizens.

Edit: and I also believe the general consensus was that English was Nakamoto's native language.

Almost everyone (outside US) learns UK english in school but reads US english on the internet. If this proofs anything than that he's not from UK (because he used american spelling too) and not from US . But it's still a very weak proof.

Re: Has a Bitcoin hacker/thief ever been caught?
by
BidcoinBernd
on 04/03/2014, 19:10:42 UTC
has a BTC thief ever actually been tracked down and caught before?
Hell yeah.

Trendon T. Shavers
Charlie Shrem
Ross Ulbricht

Neither Charlie nor Ross was caught for stealing. It was money laundering and drug dealing. As far as Trendon, I can't find any proof he was convicted of anything. But he may have.

It's like the first google result. I hope he rots in jail.
