Why does the timer not sync with the timestamp? It is lagging behind.

If you have mined for lets say 6 h (360 minutes) the timer says something like 355 minutes.

A little bug in the presentation of Hashrate/W:

You present it as the sum of hashrate/W for (GPU1 + GPU2.... + GPUn)

It should be sum of hashrate/W for (GPU1 + GPU2... + GPUn)/n

The memory speeds range all the way from 10180 to 11240 as you can see, thereof the different hashrates. All the cards are at their maximum memory speed.

maximum in msi afterburner? Or crash?

On the 1660 bios mod, only kernel 0 is running stable at the highest clockrate.

--kernel 0
I can't push any of the cards higher or they will crash in T-rex. They all max out at different frequences.

Is there a clear answer to which kernel is the fastest (on a given card) or does that depend on core/memory speed?

I just started it for the image but it's above 111MH/s on atleast one of the GPUs (MSI Ventus 3080).

There is a big difference between 111MHASH and 100MHASH. Play with --kernel, --xintensity, --lock-cclock, --lock-mclock and power limit to tune the rig. Perhaps you can get all the cards to run faster than 108 MHASH with some more tweaking?.. I had a user on reddit who bought a new PSU and gained a few MHASH'es. More power, but +10% more money in the pocket might be worth it...

When you lock the card in MSI Afterburner you override the powerlimit. The powerlimit doesn't effect the powerconsumption at all. It's basically the same thing as using --lock-clock in TBM or with nvidia-smi. All the cards are locked in MSI Afterburner.

TBMiner v1.16 support setting the powerlimit to. If you set the lock clock too high, the core will trottle. Higher coreclock more heat, more cooling needed, so you want stable clocks, stable fanspeeds.
Ok, good to know!

But when you reach memory speeds of around +1500 or higher you need to push the core above 1200Mhz to reach maximum speed. I found you need atleast 1470Mhz for the GPU not to bottleneck the memory when the memory is at +2000.

Yea, thanks! Aluminium shims can take some cards to the next level but on some cards the memory just runs cooler but you cannot clock it higher.

Yea I have already broken that!

I have a few cards with aluminium shims instead of thermal pads and can max the memory to +2000. Gives around 111.5MH/s (reported speed).

So all things being equal, is a kernel 7 (TBM 1.16) on a RTX 3080 faster compared to whatever kernel was used in 1.15?

I'm doing some testing with 6 x 3080 on TBM (1.14b) vs T-Rex miner (0.21.4), 3 x 3080 on each miner. I have them all locked at +940 memory and locked core aswell. I'm running them on Ethermine and have -xintensity 224 on TBM and -intensity 25 on T-rex miner.

The total hashrate reported in TBM is 302.2 MH/s and in T-rex miner it is 292.8 MH/s. TBM reports a higher hashrate but we will se how that translates into accepted shares by the pool

So far (after 24h) they are basically neck in neck on total accepted shares, both just around 5700 shares. Out of the total shares TBM has 125 stale shares so that is about 2% (125/5700). T-rex miner doesn't report stale shares on the client side but I can do an estimate on the pool side and it is lower than 0,5%. So it seems that T-rex is more efficient during these circumstances but we will see how they do after one week.

2250 kWh is not a alot of energy at all, that's about what a studio apartment household consumes per year.

If you are happier with the worse miner and less money, I think no one will miss you here. It's still your decision.

Merry x-mas to all Smiley

It's not a question of being happy, it's an observation everyone says that PH or Claymore cheats on sharing but no one really has proof.

I look between my rigs and my pools (I tested 4 pools same things)

9 * RX580 NITRO + SE / 8GB straps
Claymore: 304MHS
PheonixMiner: 302MHS
TeamRedMiner: 294MHS
LolMiner: 294 MHS

We still lose a lot of power from one miner to another. I haven't done the share number test yet.

it's just a shame to fall asleep on optimizations, development of 4GB cards ...
To release a miner without memory optimizations, having to use 50 software for that, claymore was good for that.

Here is an article where they proved that Phoenix miner inflates hashrates by about 3%.

You could buy it as an expensive toy but I wouldn't expect to make money off of it.

Once the 3080 Ti and 6900 XT become available nVidia will have to lower the price on the 3090s and even if they don't their resale value will drop buy 20-30% very quickly.

What is your core and memory frequency?

Very good numbers but would be better to measure at the wall to be sure how much the card draws.

The profits change on a daily basis (constantly actually) and they have large swings too. They could go down by 50% in a week (or up).

It's basically a gamble that has a relatively low expected value. It's not a get rich quick scheme and you could end up loosing money. So you should mine because you think it's fun and with money you can afford to lose.

I use Teamredminer for my AMD system and I'm testing T-Rex miner for this RTX 3080. The reason I'm not using Phoenix miner anymore is because it inflates hashrates by about 3%.
https://github.com/Kerney666/trm-ethash-miner-tester
I have seen the same results when I'm mining. You can never hold your average hashrate poolside, it's off by about 3-5% in the long run with Phoenix. This means that 98Mh/s in teamredminer is actually more efficient than 100Mh/s in Phoenix miner.

T-Rex seems to show true hashrates so far but I have to do more testing.

I am using RTX 3080 from Palit, they have mixed caps and been mining stable,
I have it setup mining 101Mh/s at 199,4W (54% power limit), can provide proof if interested
Which model is that?
