If you look at the board carefully it is clearly a newer board, with just one quadrant populated.

No reason to solder Avalons onto a board until its working right with just a chip or two.

Joe are you kidding? put the crack pipe down and your glasses back on.  That board has had Avalon's removed from it in a bad way..

It's quite obvious the chips were desoldered, look at the state of those solder pads! Why are there no power caps or power connector installed?  Also what kind of test bed is this... circuit board sitting on a sheet of paper?  ever hear of ESD and what it can do to high density ASICS?  Glad I didn't fall for this...  Good Luck all

Yeah, the solder does not look like it's fresh at all.  Does that happen (the bubbling and deformation) in a reflow oven if there aren't any ICs on the pads?

I'm going to bet that circuit board is pooched. Looks like a manual chip removal with iron and wick was performe... Those pads look like they are all shorted now.

Can someone ... who is more into this ... comment the picture ....

what do we see here, exactly?

For me ... it looks like they removed 12 chips and its still the same old board .... isn't ...it?

I don't think they removed any chips but who knows.
It's probably a different board this time they only put 2 Avalon chips on it.
I just don't see much progress here.
TerraHash would have been better off just copying the Avalon reference design.

Oh, now it makes even more sense to me...

sending $79,109.13 up front on 14th of May

Cloudhashing sent TH just enough money to purchase another 10,000 Avalon chips on May 14th, right when TH says they would have made a second avalon order.

Now comes June and Cloudhashing wants a refund, but TH has no money.  The only way to raise money for a refund is to accept pre-orders. Smiley

WOW, so yesterdays buyers were not funding a chip buy, they were funding a REFUND!, hence the decision to open orders so early in the game...

Here are Steamboats CONFIRMED chip orders...  Terrahash Pre-Order buyers, tell me how you have not been CORNHOLED.

Batch 1: Order #10177, Purchase date May 1,2013. Expected delivery date early July
Batch 2: Order #10265, Purchase date May 11,2013. Expected delivery date mid July
Batch 3: Order #10325, Purchase date May 22,2013. Expected delivery date mid/late July.
Batch 4: Order #10425, Purchase date May 28,2013. Expected delivery date late July, early Aug.
Batch 5: Order #10553, Purchase date June 5. Expected delivery date early/mid Aug.

Because we can cancel at any time (risk free) within the next 30 days (likely 45) for a full refund if TH does not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they had a chip order on a reasonable date.  FWIW its not like Avalon is running each chip order totally separate from the next, so a difference in order dates of a few days or even a week won't kill anybody as it is likely they will all ship out concurrent with one another.

Having said that, date is still unproven...which again, would be easy to do and I'm estimating TH would lose ~50% of orders if they don't prove they had it before today, which would likely leave them unable to fund their purchases from Avalon...put them in hot water (plus its illegal to do that).  Nobody who paid with paypal or even credit card is fucked today, not by a longshot.

Id like to see the BTC transaction..

Shit just got real! May 10th.. Yeah I trust they ship quite a bit sooner then September Smiley

and if they where to put this proof hours ago, many of us could of been in that shipment before September

Now, terra hash, are you ordering more chips today? because we know the 10k is already being used up

The order numbers started from 430. The order numbers do not increment by 1. I really don't know how this shopping cart software works, but we are using WooCommerce.

Regarding the proof of chip order, we do not have the private key to the address we used anymore. But I will post a screen shot from Avalon's website.

I just called them and told them they should post their chip order number on the forum to help appease people's concerns. His response was, "I haven't looked at the forum. I'll look into it."   So lets hope for a chip order number here. They were getting slammed with phone calls and visitors yesterday when I visited. I can only imagine the volume of calls/emails/PM's he's getting. They only had two people in the office yesterday. They aren't setup to stay on top of a thread as active as this one.

The chip order PROOF was requested serveral days ago when they were active on the forum...

Please tell me how the purchasers of those Avalon chips plan to convert them to a working miner? It certainly won't happen as soon as they receive the chips, so you can add at least a couple of weeks onto the dates listed above. I suspect a lot of folks will be sitting on Avalon chips desperately searching for someone to assemble them into a working miner, which will take time.

You obviously haven't followed steamboat..

what makes you think that,
the influx of pre-orders and a queue\assembly time, or actual chip availability?

+1
(I believe 30 days with paypal is the limit?) so if you had enough of waiting beyond 30 days, does terrahash offer a refund?
and..AMEX interest isn't cheap either....

And for what it's worth, Paypal in the US gives you 45 days to file a claim.

Ill guarantee you terrahash will not ship within 45 days..

As per Avalon’s documentation, batches will be shipped 9-10 weeks after purchase.  If terrahash finally submits the order this week, it will
POSSIBLY take delivery SEPTEMBER 1ST...

Actually noticed it was cheaper to have 2 separate orders of 3 and 1 K64s than just an order of 4.  Expedited shipping was $200 for 4 or $100 for 3 and $50 for 1.

Ditto.  Trust me I sell stuff on Paypal all the time there is little to no risk if within the first 30 days you file a claim.

Yes 30 days... These suckers are going to be waiting much longer than 30 days...

damit only #4xx and #5xx orders ^^^rofl ^^ i ... was like 1-2 seconds after they opened ^^^
i think they started high. like in the 450's. any body know why?

Same reason that your bank doesn't start your checking account with check number 0001.  Makes people think you're established.

Still no chip order pic?

Not yet.. todays pre-orders will fund the chip order... or they hope they do...

I drove down to their office and made a 4 hour round trip yesterday from Sonoma. They weren't hesitant at all about me coming by.  I saw the sample board with my own eyes. The avalon chips looked exactly like the ones I saw at Bitcoin 2013 in san jose. I discussed their hosted solution and they're using a data center right down the street from them. My DXs will be sitting in a cage in an area of silicon valley that does offer inexpensive commercial power. I'm going to go ahead and take the plunge and have a good feeling about it.

4 hour round trip.... WOW.. .Please show us the pictures!  you do own a camera right?
