i will not sell it too.  i know bitcoin will not disappoint me it wll reach the way we never expect it bigger than before and ill be waiting for that time it gonna happen.

You mean to say that you will never sell your coins? If you will never sell then how you gonna enjoy profits from it? We are here to make profits and not only to hold coins and miss the opportunity of making money.

well, you can see what he says will wait for the time it happened, I thought not to sell now and sell in the future when prices really rise very high.
I don't think it's a good move if you just thinking to waiting for the price rise and sell it out into fiat money as you know there are inflation when prices of goods/services increase that cause the value of fiat money decrease but in the other hand the price of bitcoin goes up. It will better if you could use bitcoin to buy something that you need at online stores which accepted bitcoin, of course you can exchange some into fiat money but not a half of yours, just a small amount.

Waiting for the price hike or simply holding your bitcoins is already proven by the first bitcoin holders and one they are just enjoying the profits that they have made by just simply holding. So this is going to be a good move if you believe that the price of bitcoin is going to fluctuate higher and going to reach up to $1,000.
thats true, it is the best thing to do with your money in my opinion and it will definitely make you some money at some point

We cannot expect that high pump again in future as it will not reach to $1k or $2k in quick time, it will take a long time and not everyone has that patience to hold it longer.

Well for me I believe to that rapid price pump and even though that is not going to happen for this year. Who knows, but I will just keep on holding my bitcoins because the price today is convincing that the price of bitcoin is going to increase again and there's no impossible thing that it can happen again.

There is no good news this year. So the bitcoin price will just rise due to the slow mass adoption at the moment.

They are funded for years, so they won't have to sell any of the foundation's ethereum. They could sell their personal stash but that's not related to foundation's money. I can feel you're starting to regret buying ETC as you can see it slowly being dumped.
though still i think that ethereum is not a bad currency, however i have to agree that its price is going to be dumped over time

The Ethereum Devcon2 will be held. So the price might go higher.

Ethereum Devcon2 Conference Welcomes Santander As Gold Sponsor

I reckon the Ethereum price will rise a lot near the meeting. This meeting is in China. It will attract rich guys.

The Chinese are quite rich. If they think the Etheruemm has great future, they will invest in it, the price will rise.

If I look at the charts of the last few weeks, I see a few little spikes.
But I'm not sure if they caused by whales or just normal market effects.
The big trend, and think that is the important thing, it clearly points down.
In general I don't think that there is a very bright future for Etc.

I think so. The whales are still in the ETC. The price has dropped a lot in the ETC, but it rose 20% in the last day.

No, this is the classic "dead shitcoin" pattern where people lose interest after the first pump and dump and the value never goes back up again. The only reason it still has volume is because the bag holders are cutting their losses.

That is right. I notice the ETC price dropped more than 50% against ETH in the last few weeks. It could drop again.

even 1 month ago, I was earning $1.5 from a single gpu. Today $1 is hard to earn. Still people are mining ethereum ?

with dual mining it's still above $1.5 for a 1070, actually nearly $2 depend on electricity

what about 1080 is it still profitable ?? i was planning to buy a couple specially for this . if its worth it i will go for it ... please help

The 1080 is not good for the Ethereum mining. It is GDDR5X memory, that is not suitable for the Ethereum mining.

When bitcoin become popular and many people use bitcoin, i'm sure Amazon will interest on bitcoin and maybe will accept bitcoins in the future.

That is right. I think the Amazon is just observing the situation. It will let others try the bitcoin. If it is good, it will use it.

Im investing small ammounts of bitcoin into some altcoins that i believe are under the real value, soo i will hold them till end the year atleast and then i will think what i will do if sell or wait a bit more, usually the savings returns good profits and almost without risk.

Holding it till the end of the year is a good thing to do as everyone is expecting higher price in the end of the  year so if we sell at that point that it can be really profitable.

What is your assurance then that holding it till the end of the year will give you good returns? Yes there are really lots of expectation but expectation alone will not make the bitcoin price increase. That's not how bitcoin price works for a higher price.

What if there are really big fluctuations of price increase months before the end of the year? Will you just watched it?

Its his money if he believes in holding it for long term then you cannot force him for anything, he can take decision according to his choice, if he wants to hold he will hold or else sell, no big deal.

The people that believe in holding long term understand the necessity of Bitcoin in the future and see the current scenario as a big opportunity to get rich as hell.

Getting rich with bitcoin is possible if price skyrockets in future, and bitcoin has potential to do that as we will see major development in bitcoin in coming years which will take price higher.

I think the bitcoin price will stay around the current for the next few months. It will take some time for it to recover from various bad events.

ETH and ETC counting their last days, already we can see they are slowing down.
We could see major crash of one of those..And whales probably awaiting new fresh blood..

Their dollar price might be going down at present. But their bitcoin price is more or less stable. When the summer holiday finishes, the price will go up.

I think the ETH price will rise a lot when the Etheruem Foundation dumps the Ethereum Classic to the market.

The Ethereum Foundation still has millions of Ethereum including the ETC. So when it sells it on market, it might crash the price.

They are not funded for years. Last year there was already news that they are running out of funds. This was when they made the Frontier release of Ethereum. Vitalik was calling out for more support from the community. It was almost like he was saying that he is leaving part of the development with the community because they cannot continue it anymore.

Their burn rate is high. I do not know how they spend all that money.

They were short of funds last year as they have a lot of Ethereum and the ETH price was low. Now, even the ETC price was higher than last year's ETH price. So they are rich now.

Hello there!
Excuse me if messed up.
I'm trying to mine Ethereum and Ethereum Classic with my PC.
My GPU is a GTX 780 Ti AMP! and I get 3-4 MH/s?!?!
I use Windows 10 64-Bit and the 347.52 driver.
Other people are getting anything between 15-20 MH/s.
Whats wrong?
Please help.
I even tried Genoil's miner and got even worse performance.

Best regards-
Its because you're trying to mine to nicehash. Use a real pool and earn much more.

can any one tell me which pool and miner works best for ETH ? please

The Etherpool.org is the best for me. I like the solo mining mode. But you have to have at least 1GH/s to benefit. I use the Claymore miner.

I think the Ethereum Foundation has to sell the funds to pay for the developments and other costs.

It is better to sell the ETC now as the price is going down.

As tittle says will amazon accept bitcoins in the future?

i think it should accept them, it will probably take some time like 5 or 10 years but of course it will accept bitcoins as people will want to pay in bitcoins

It depends on the things which are done by all those who use the bitcoin. If they helped to introduce bitcoin to everyone, then I'm sure the next 1 year amazon will accept bitcoin as one of the payout, because amazon doesn't do things that can give you a very bad effects for their growth.
even you just introduce bitcoin to everyone in this earth,if amazon just didn't get the advantages of enabling bitcoin as their payment option in their point of view, then they'll definitely not planning to add bitcoin, company always see what they got from implement a new things before realizing

If the companies can save the transaction cost of the selling goods, and if the transaction cost is lower than the credit cards, they will use bitcoin.

For the 1000W output power supply, it can output 1000 W, while it can draw 1000W/91% 1098W. So it still has some redundency.

I thought that efficiency is related with the difference between the load needs and the power that you need from the wall.

For example, if you have a load that needs 100W, and you have a PSU with an efficiency of 90%, then you get from the wall 110W.

The efficiency is highest at around 50% of the maximum output. It is lower when the output is too high. I run my output around 70-80% of the maximum output.

My electricity price is high. So I use the platinum power supply and also a big specication PSU, so that the efficiency is high.

The difficulty of the Ethereum is rising fast, in the next 3 months, unless you have the 470 or better GPU, you will not make much profit in the Ethereum mining.

Its not accepted globally, and the value price can not be predicted its up and down..price not stable. So if you are not careful you lost all of your bitcoin due to exchange and its up and down value...

You are right about it is not accepted globally but i dont agree with you on the second point you mentioned that unstable price of bitcoin is a problem and someone can lose all bitcoin if not careful, but i dont think anyone would lose any bitcoin because of unstable price because if you are using bitcoin everyday then you will always know the price as it does not just jump from $600 to $0, you will always have time to sell your coins.
Unstable prices bitcoin is an attraction for all trader and if the price is stable surely you will never get profit by increased price.

However, you have to be a good trader to take advantage of the volatile price. Over 50% of the traders will lose as it is negative sum game.

Re: Ethereum mining still profitable?

No no
ETH not profitable anymore to mine
Except you got free rigs and electricity

true statement, if you pay over 40 cent per kwh of energy. most of us pay 15 cent or less, so ETH mining ist still profitable atm

If you use some kind of undervolting and reduce the frequency of the core or memory, it is still profitable.

Miners tend to overvolt and overclock. That will make their ROI faster if their electricity price is low.,

Real stupid miners, you mean. UNDERVOLT and overclock.

It depends on the graphics cards. I usually undervolt and underclock to get better efficiency as I have high electricity price.

Because you have sense. Overvolting is almost always done for "vanity" hashrate records, people who don't care, or people who simply have more money than sense.

I also undervolt my 7970. The difficulty is still rising. I might have to undervolt and increase the efficiency again.

I use the AMD R9 390, I undervolt it to below 1000 mV and frequency  is around 970 MHz. It is quite efficient.

It is quite efficient if you under volt and under clock. But if you pay high electricity price, it will not be profitable soon.

I have both RX 470's working now (4GB and 8GB) with latest Claymore's Dual miner.
Running it in ETH mode only atm, but both are mining without crashes.

8GB card is running at 24.xx Mh/s (drivers v16.8.1)
4GB card is running at 22.xx Mh/s (drivers v16.7.3)

-tried dual mode ETH+Decred:

Decred speeds:
8GB card is running at 369 Mh/s
4GB card is running at 321 Mh/s

Both Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470's at stock speeds.

Nice to see them both hash, Claymore's miner ftw!

What are the memory frequencies. Are you able to overclock the memory frequency? If so, what software do you use?

if you have lots of money, it is good to hold bitcoin. but if you do not have money, it is better to grow bitcoin than just hold.

so when you grow and make a profit, you can save the most and hold for the long term.

Even if you have a lot of money but still it is better to keep them growing, if you dont want to risk them all then just do it with a half or just with a quarter of what you have, in that way if the price even drops in future you won't be in loss because you have been growing your bitcoins gradually with the time and if the price grows then you will earn a lot more profits then usual.
Holding is very simple, it just needs some patience, it is not necessary that you sell every time there is a price increase because that inrease could be more when you wait for a longer time, one should know how to have patience and treat his investment like a time deposit where there should be a definite time before you withdraw.

Yes if you are looking for higher profits then you need to hold your coins for really long time, as it is predicted that bitcoin has potential to touch $5k in next 5 years.

What you can do is if you have some spare money, buy 1 Bitcoin, get it on a paper wallet and lock it away in a safe place. Just set a reminder for 2022 and forget you even have the coins for better or worse Smiley This is especially good for people who are not normally into Bitcoins, like you can gift it to you girlfriend or parents and they can potentially have a nice surprise after 5 years. Wonder how much 1 BTC will be worth in 2022.

Well actually that is a good plan, but not many people have patience to hold it that long and they will sell their coins when price goes higher and that we will witness when it will hit $1k mark.

If you really want to earn by means of holding then you are going to hold and not going to sell your coins and going to have patience.
Because you know what is going to happen if you are going to be patient by holding a lot of your coins. That is what happened to the first bitcoin holders and they are now millionaires.

I bought some bitcoin a few years ago and hold until a few months ago. I bought some altcoin miners with the bitcoin.

Crickets.....may as well get used to it, these geniuses have bigger problems now than rolling back bail outs lol!

What problems:

The next 2 Forks are on the schedule for the Ethereum Foundation:

1) Metropolis

and

2) Serenity

Therefore, whilst you lot moan and groan on this ANN about history, everyone else is continuing with Network development.

That is planned fork and is essential for the development of the Ethereum. I have no problem with that. Maybe the ETC will not fork.

Ethereum Foundation should make those Scheduled Forks difficult for Clone-Crap-Coins to implement Grin

The ETC is independent now. So it shall not copy and past the codes from Ethereum. It might employ its own developers.

ETHC has always been independent and can do whatever is reasonable including copy and paste code from the cloned ETHF. The only thing ETHC will never do is bail out forks.

As already said now the bail out ETHF is a test net for ETHC.

That means there is no need for the active developer/development for just the ETC. It can do copy and past.

It would be good if the bitcoin can be used as a currency in some games. And people can earn that in games.

let's wait for more scaling first. if some of the big online games started using bitcoin the whole network would seize up even if they were using payments channels. at some point the coins have to come out of the game and on to the blockchain.

certain games probably have 5-10 times more than the total of current bitcoin users.

That is the reason we need big block size of at least 2MB in the short term, and it should be increased according to usage.

I think as long as the price remains low bitcoin better hold and while holding  your bitcoin
it would be better if you also continue to collect bitcoin.,

That must be the common practice. Don't just hold same quantity and numbers of bitcoin because you are just expecting to increase their value. Much better if while holding, also try to accumulate coins as much as you can so that their quantity is growing too. And because their quantity is growing, expect some nice profits too.

Yes its better to make some efforts in growing our coins instead of just holding it, if you have higher number of coins then you can expect higher profits in future.

Exactly. And by adding and accumulating hold coins, our time of waiting will be worth it since the expected rewards is really interesting.

If you will just only hold a fixed amount and never adding some of it then the expected rewards are not that worth of waiting.
I think a lot of us are doing the same thing. By accumulating bitcoin with the ways we know how, we all just have to hope that the future will be brighter for us who are patiently holding our precious bitcoins. With a bit of patience and proper discipline, a huge amount of bitcoins can be in our hands.

I have bought some bitcoin this time last year. I think the price will rise a lot in the future, so I did not sell any.
