The quote below caught my attention considering the topic of conversation.

5 Surprising Facts from CoinDesk's State of Bitcoin Report

... "he suggested, journalists' approach to the cryptocurrency has typically morphed from 'ignore', 'dismiss', 'cover' and 'hedge' to the fifth and final stage: 'write a book'." ...

http://www.coindesk.com/5-facts-coindesks-state-bitcoin-report-q1-2015/

Are all the ups and downs, bad news, poorly reported unfactual news, and the rest of the drama starting to bore people?  Will they ever become bitcoin believers or will another currency that has done everything right from the start sweep in and take the prize in a "winner takes all" move?  Perhaps bitcoin isn't the digital currency that these journalists should be writing books on. Wink

My money is on the later. DNotes is still the only one I see in the position to do so. Many of the other coins are focusing on small niches. Here is one I couldn't wrap my head around, maybe someone can explain it to me.
http://www.rainforestfoundation.org/bitseeds
I'm sure some of you have seen the article on cryptocoinnews. It caught my attention because I am interested in preserving the rain forest, and the rain forest foundation themselves are involved. What I can't understand is how creating a currency will help them achieve the goal of replanting the rain forest.  The best I can come up with is they are the only ones that have the bitseeds to start, and you have to buy them directly from the rainorest foundation. If that's the case, what will make them worth anything? I almost emailed them, but it sounds like a good cause and I didn't want to come across like I was interfering or against it.

Found this on ccn

Bitcoin price is being traded lower in small price steps as buyers eagerly take advantage of new lows, and profit takers fill in the ending of the current wave of decline. After another correction we could see an additional wave of decline. Will it be foreshortened by buying demand or catastrophic due to mass participation?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-price-decline-coming/

What does everyone think? Are we headed for a price decline in bitcoin?

I think BTC has reached it price point of just above or slightly below 200.00 USD. Unless something truly remarkable happens, in either direction, this seems to be the price for now. We need some real inovation in the marketing side of Bitcoin itself. We also need for the leaders, shakers and movers of Bitcoin to grow up, stop fighting, stop stealing and stop reinforcing the media's depiction of Bitcoin as an aide to criminals. Bitcoin has a PR problem that will hinder growth until it's fixed.

And, we, as DNotes, must continue to work tirelessly towards the goal of breaking away from the Bitcoin market and standing on our own. I firmly believe this will happen in the not too distant future. Until then, ever forward people, ever forward...

I hear you loud and clear. There is a serious lack of leadership in our industry. I would not have preferred to make a big deal about it until DNotes is solidly positioned; i.e. by the end of 2015. However, it is now getting more than just frustrating to see the continued high volatilities and downward trend of Bitcoin. It is becoming damaging to our industry. DNotes is in the best position to show some leadership. I am highly confident that with the support of our community and others in our industry we can pick a big city like Chicago and make a bold move.

We can make Chicago the Epicenter of Digital Currency and Bitcoin Blockchain. We can show the world that there is a better way to collaborate and build upon the most innovative technology of our generation to mutually benefit far more people than ever accomplished in the history of mankind.

Please let us hear your comments. It will also be helpful if you can come up with a better theme. What may be a better phrase to chacterize such a project.

Epicenter of Digital Currency & Blockchain Technology

California may host Silicon Valley, but Chicago will become the Digital Hub for Blockchain technology.

The CRISP Word Contest   -    WINNERS!

Thank you everyone for the awesome entries!!!        Smiley

CRISP Dictionary Definition

#1
Cryptobroker79:  CRISP /krisp/

abbreviation
cryptocurrency investment savings plan

noun: CRISP, plural noun: CRISPS

1. -a DNotes global Initiative, designed to bring cryptocurrency to the everyday person.
-a long term savings plan, using DNotes as the investment vehicle.
-an alternative to traditional investments, savings, and retirement plans.

verb:CRISP, past tense:CRISPed, present participle:CRISPing

1. set aside wealth for the future.  "I CRISP for my future"
2. previously set up a CRISP.  "sure glad I CRISPed, it's out performed all of my other investments"
3. using a cryptocurrency investment savings plan.  "I've been CRISPing for years now, and my finances have never looked better"

#2
cojack:    Crisparian
[krisp-er-ēən]
noun
An experienced CRISP user.

#3 (Tie)
kanus1113:     CRISP (Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan) - A group of programs designed to aid individuals and groups save digital currency as a long term investment.
IMZ:     Phrasal verb: crisp up: 'to gleefully own large amounts of CRISP,' as in 'Wow! I'm CRISPed right up at this point!"

CRISP Customized

#1 - Customized for Organizations / Crisp Generator
BoscoBlue / RJF / DNotes (Joint Entry):
Boscoe Blue - Organizations may benefit from using CRISP, where the organizer can customize and contribute to their own CRISP program. For example, employee matching programs.
RJF - Perhaps, in the future, we could have a "CRISP Generator" where you just plug in the required amounts, fund name and purpose, pick from a list what you want to calculate, etc and submit it for review and possible posting if acceptable. Of course there would be rules and guidelines and the creation process would rely on drop down choices to keep things in line and formatted as DNotes wishes. People could apply for a CRISP Hosting account at the time.
DNotes - Agreed, that sounds like a good idea. An organization would apply for registration. Get their own landing page like ABCOrganization.DNotesVault.com, registrations through that landing page would be tied to that organizations account. As well as an organizational administration panel where they could approve registrations and add 'rules' for accounts tied to that organization, like fund matching or initial sign up bonus. What type of organizations might be interested in something like this?
RJF - I would think the list is long and distinguished. Schools, volunteer Fire/Rescue/OEM, public service such as Rotary, Masons, Optimists, Scout Troops, Charities, etc.  Anybody that wants to offer an incentive for joining, serving or remaining a member.

********

#2 - CRISP for Families
RJF:  CRISP for Families! Either a CRISP for Families, or a pre-configured generator to create simple family CRISP Plans where Mom or Dad can "plug in" their configuration and comfort level, include their children, and end up with their own, family oriented, savings plan/account all rolled up in one CRISP customized for them.

With growing distrust in banks and other financial entities and managers, people are starting to take their investments into their own hands, what better way to do this than a DNotes savings plan that you customize for your own needs and expectations? I can foresee a lot of activity with this and that is the main reason a self management system should be developed to take off DNotes developers. And, as always, the chance for much greater than traditional returns is always there.

I think this would be a template for all future CRISP plans if developed with flexibility in mind. Later on we can role crypto currency conversion into the system to allow for the deposit of other coins and their automatic conversion into DNotes being instantly added to your vault.

And keep in mind, unlike groups and businesses, families are free to open accounts as they wish without going through "due process" and loosing time and money waiting.

**********

#3 - Lottery CRISP for Vacation
TeeGee:     How about a lottery CRISP for Vacation too? People enter by throwing in say 2000 DNotes, and the moment the vacation lottery fund reaches say $5000 USD, whether by price appreciation, or more DNotes triggering the 5k limit - contributors are given a chance to win based on their proportion of the vacation fund they put in. Could be an interesting 'third party' CRISP that a private individual could run as a sort of promotional lottery for DNotes or something.

BoscoBlue:     Digital Life. A spin on the game of life that is all digital and allows opportunities to put money into CRISP accounts?

Thank you, congratulations to everyone.

Obstacle - Combating and rising above the bad reputation bitcoin has (whether it is deserved or not).

Thanks Chase! Adding it to the list.

What technologies are most important to the future and success of DNotes?

What major issues with the existing financial system can DNotes solve?

1) Micro transactions, under $1 are not feasible. The transaction fees make micro transactions unprofitable if not impossible.

What services are most important to the future and success of DNotes?

1) Direct and simple fiat to DNotes exchange.

What major obstacles does DNotes face to achieve success?

1) Half of the world's population does not have banking access and is therefore excluded from participating in economic growth.
2) Combating and rising above the bad reputation bitcoin has (whether it is deserved or not).

I have one for technologies... An easy to use merchant payment verification system.
The ones available today are either too complicated or third party and come with additional fees.

This is another sick day for the industry.

Here are my prospectives. Many bad things have been done using money by bad actors, including countless ponzi schemes. This happened to be another one "that used the veneer of Bitcoin trading as its lure." That is sad.

What is worst is how the media exploited the situation and greatly exaggerated the amount recklessly to make it sensational. This kind for negative headline and false narrative will affect our ill informed political leaders and regulators to react in very damaging ways in the name of consumer protection.

Our industry's concerned supporters should take serious notice of this and unit to protect the hugely innovative Bitcoin technology that has very positive and significant implications for the betterment of humanity. A united and positive push-back is in order.

Hong Kong's MyCoin Disappears With Up To $387 Million, Reports Claim

Jon Southurst (@southtopia) | Published on February 9, 2015 at 10:12 GMT NEWS
http://www.coindesk.com/hong-kong-exchange-mycoin-disappears-387m-reports-claim/

Reports are emerging from Hong Kong that local bitcoin exchange MyCoin has shut its doors, taking with it possibly as much as HK$3bn ($386.9m) in investor funds.

If true, the supposed losses are a staggering amount, although this estimate is based on the company's own earlier claims that it served 3,000 clients who had invested HK$1m ($129,000) each.

For perspective, bitcoin's entire market cap today stands at around USD$3bn.

The issue came to light on Friday when about 30 people claiming to be victims of the company's actions petitioned a local member of the Legislative Council, Leung Yiu-chung.

The victims are reportedly due to make a statement to Hong Kong police on Wednesday.

Ponzi scheme suspected

Adding to the mystery are reports the company never operated as a genuine bitcoin business at all. Testimonies from customers describe an operation more like a Ponzi scheme that used the veneer of bitcoin trading as its lure.

One local woman was quoted as saying:

"We were told by those at higher tiers [of the scheme] that we can get our money back if we find more new clients."

Adding to the business' pyramid-like feel were promises of cash prizes or Mercedes-Benz cars if customers could recruit new investors, said a report in Hong Kong's South China Morning Post.

Customers were promised returns of HK$1m in four months, and had been pressured into buying bitcoin-based contracts by real estate agents, insurance agents and law firm clerks. But after slowing down the release of payments, the exchange's office boarded up its doors for "renovations" last month, the report says.

Regulation trigger

The incident could lead to greater regulation of the bitcoin industry in Hong Kong, which has so far operated with little scrutiny. Councilor Leung has said he wants to meet with Hong Kong's Monetary Authority to discuss better protections for bitcoin investors.

It's not the first time Hong Kong bitcoiners have found themselves out of pocket. Chinese trading platform GBL, purportedly based in Hong Kong, also disappeared in November 2013 with $4.1m in customer funds.

At the time of writing, MyCoin's site appeared to be still up and running, although there are clear indications all is not well. It is not possible to create a new account, and the listed bitcoin price is under $2.

Another Hong Kong exchange, KBBEX, has informed Leung that it is willing to provide assistance to help those affected, in order to regain trust in bitcoin and perhaps perform technical analysis if required.

Some posts in public forums appeared to confuse MyCoin with Maicoin, a reputable Taiwan-based bitcoin services company that is still functioning and healthy.

A Maicoin spokesperson said there had not been a material impact on the company's business, but an end to the confusion generated by the similar names would be welcome.

It is like the wild west right now, without protections in place. When you hand over your bitcoin it is like handing over a pile of cash. Except when you hand over a pile of cash no one demonizes the cash...

This has been going on for as long as I can remember with fiat currency.  The really sad thing is a new emerging industry is suffering because of this.  I realize the company is to blame as well as the media exaggerating the facts, but greed also seems to be playing havoc with the investors' common sense.

It is sad. As with anything, people will try to exploit the system. Hope they catch them.

I've been corresponding and working out a deal with a web designer to come up with a few mock designs for DNotesCoin.com for some DNotes. If we have any other web designers out there that are interested in earning some DNotes, please let us know.

Please post any suggestions or ideas you have for the DNotesCoin.com website.

Professional and exciting is how I would describe the site. The slogan "Cryptocurrency of the future with lasting value" on there. Maybe some quotes from the co-founders?

If you sort CMC on 24hr change, DNotes is currently #1 @ 45.86%  Somewhat meaningless (or is it?) but it looks real nice....

#26 in market cap as well. DNotes is moving faster than I expected.

Very exciting to watch. I've been glued to coinmarketcap and poloniex the past couple of days.

C-Cex trading value is up, volume low... what's the future of this coin?

Hi minerpage.  Welcome to DNotes Forum. C-Cex typically has the lowest volume among the three exchanges DNotes is actively traded on. The other two are Allcoin and Poloniex. Like most of the other altcoins, DNotes has limited liquidity resulting in a price spike, more often than other exchanges with higher volume. I have noticed that a number of times and also noticed that it adjusted fairly quickly.

We do plan on DNotes having a good future. DNotes is managed like a business. We have a very specific strategic plan in building DNotes from ground up as a stable trustworthy digital currency with reliable long term appreciation. We believe in creating fundamental values to support DNotes valuation with a preference to remain under valued verses being priced to perfection. We share our conceptual strategic plans but do not disclose specific details until we deemed appropriate, either at launch time or very closed to it.

In case you missed our recent press release, the following links may give you a better idea of our commitments to give DNotes the best chances to be the digital currency of the future with lasting value:

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/cryptocurrency-round-bitreserve-launches-bitcoin-gold-standard-draper-wins-auction-1478538

"The biggest mover across all markets was DNotes, the self-described "cryptocurrency of the future". DNotes rose by almost 40% over the last 24 hours to take its market cap above $650,000."

Sounds like a well organized coin... I'm in Smiley

Delighted to have your support. Let us know any time we can be of help. Be sure to visit CryptoMoms if you have not already done so. http://cryptomoms.com/forum/index.php?action=recent

To me it looks as if DNotes has been a "Steady as she goes" currency with taking the time to make it valuable in different ways.  Especially for instance the cryptomoms. I am pretty new but have taken my time to research a bunch before getting on board with any currency.  I have made that leap and truly believe this is the best one out there.  I have read the posts about the fire fighters as well and am stoked about that as well.  Been in a fire fighting family for years and their work is very valuable, this currency would be great for them as well.
Hi Grandmama, thanks for supporting CryptoMoms and now here to give us a helping hand, Even though you are new you have been making some great observations with excellent posts. The optimum success of DNotes can only come about from the participation of a large number of DNotes stakeholders promoting and protecting DNotes, CryptoMoms, and now DNotesVault for their mutual benefits as a group. It is the unity of force, coming from a growing number of common people in pursuit of their common goals that makes our achievement sustainable with increasing momentum.

We are delighted to notice that quite a few new supporters have been helping us to spread the message. DNotes real greatness will come about when each and everyone of us try to do a little good for others while helping ourselves. This is a grassroots community effort to shape the future of money for the common people and the financially disadvantaged away from the central control of a few rich and powerful. The decentralized nature of digital currency is such that the actions of the majority always rule.

This is a strategic master stroke. It shows deep understanding of technology adoption life cycle and a lot of strategy related concepts that I had to pay a premium business school to learn. The network effect being gradually created shows excellent execution skills as well. Theory meets implementation.

Still, every long term coin strategy needs an economic model to survive the initial excitement. I've seen many coins do well until the highly anticipated spike and the following selloff... at which point the coin is practically dead in the water... speculation can be good to get a market position, but needs to be sustained with economic activities (buying and selling goods with the coin) so I would think a payment gateway is pretty essential early in the game... the sooner the better... am looking for that model with this coin Smiley

I apologize for not giving you a prompt response. Of course, viable economic model is essential for any entity to survive over the long term. Speculative short terms spike often benefits a few but very damaging for everyone else. DNotes may be taking mass consumer and merchant adoption more seriously than most our industry peers.

Our core mission is to fulfill the full functions of money and more. DNotes is strategically positioned to be among the most cost effective medium of exchange for global commerce. Stability is the key requirement. High volatility destroys all cost advantages of low transaction cost using digital currency, with increased risk of currency loss. Global payment network with the most technically advanced payment system will certainly be part of our total package. I hope this addressed your concern. Feel free to let us know if we can answer any other questions.

Dyna said: "Our core mission is to fulfill the functions of money and more".
That would seem to be the obvious goal of ALL crypto-currencys. BUT........I have looked and looked, but have not found ANY other currency that has that goal, or is even aware that it is even important. It is amazing to me........ what seems like an obvious goal (fulfilling the functions of money) for any "internet money", is lost on the crypto-currency world. They don't treat it like money, they treat it as a commodity to be traded, like stocks. The Developers design and promote it like a stock or commodity. They don't seem to think about the end use of thier product, they only think about it "going to the moon".

Does any other coin have a track record of stability? Not even close. Not even one. How about trust? There is not one coin that I would trust. I don't trust anything to do with crypto-currency!! Mt. Gox? How about Mint Pal? Polo getting hacked. Very scary out there.

We will always do what we say we are gonna do. We are low key, undervalued, not hyped, not  shouting about some project that MAY work 6 months from now just to get the price up. Trust is not something that is built overnight. Like a lot of other things, trust is something that is EARNED, not given. We understand how important stability and trust are to money. It CANNOT be called money without those two things. We will never allow DNotes two fail either of these tests. If we do, we are just like all the other crap coins out there. Hold us accountable. We accept the challenge.

Smokey

Yes, this is the key, it's money. If every coin out there pushed this definition then perhaps every new piece of legislation, opinion, law etc would stop determining crypto as a commodity. I admit there are a lot of coins that appear more to be a commodity than money but, in the long run, DNotes will enjoy an ever increasing lead over the others as people seek to use their crypto as money. This will produce more real world adoption and usage in financial instruments and transactions than the "commodity" coins that have limited real world use.

Commodity to me is a short term way to describe the function of digital currency for government and institutional purposes of classification. I think everyone knows and treats it today as currency and in the future it will be treated and classified as currency. Any coins that cannot move beyond the commodity stage will be sucked dry of any value and die off over time. Very few appear to be moving that direction along with DNotes. The type of projects Dnotes has released, like dnotesvault.com, seem to demonstrate that they are looking for longevity and looking at what will be most useful in the future.

Is there such a thing as a cryptocurrency debit card that you can use to purchase in stores?

I believe so, although I have not used one myself.  The following is just one among many going that direction:

“Shift Developing Hybrid Fiat and Bitcoin Debit Card”
http://www.coindesk.com/shift-hybrid-fiat-bitcoin-debit-card/

Offering a multi-currency card is part of our strategic plan. We have a very unique set of building blocks in preparation for that assuming that the regulatory environment will be favorable at some point in the future.

That could be really interesting. I imagine with the touch screen interfaces at checkout now the possibilities are virtually endless. "Would you like to pay in credit, debit, or DNotes?"

I posted this on CryptoMoms, but it will be of benefit to all DNotes holders when we help people sign up for the DNotesVault and the CR.I.S.P.   Smiley

"How To Explain Cryptocurrency To Newbies"

https://altcoinherald.com/explain-cryptocurrency-newbies/

Nice find. Copywriting 101 Features vs. Benefits. We definitely need to focus more on benefits of cryptocurrency verse scary and hard to understand technical details.

This is is extremely evident when teaching those new to cryptocurrency. I've explained crypto to hundreds of people that have never heard of it, and it was quite the challenge at first. At first people were much less receptive, because I spent too much time describing the technology. I also played the numbers game, sending out countless messages and emails to target organizations. That didn't work so well, because it's a very impersonal approach. What people really responded to was an in person explanation of the basics, and benefits of digital currency. About 25% of people I've spoken with were turned off by the word cryptocurrency, and they all gave the same reason, "because crypto sounds like a virus". They felt more comfortable when I referred to it as digital currency.

You are absolutely correct. Many newbies get confused and turned off by the word “cryptocurrency”, while others feel unsafe to invest in virtual currency. I have heard of remarks that virtual currency does not sound like real money or sounds like it is from the outer space. I agree that most people are comfortable when I explained to them that DNotes is a digital currency.

The following sample presentation may be helpful. Use the concept and approach and draft your own version that you are comfortable with and believe in.

A Sample Presentation:

By the way, have you heard of Bitcoin? Like the internet, it is a new technology that is creating a lot of new jobs and making a few people some good money, especially for those who got in early. It is the next generation of digital money and really not that complicated since you are already familiar with money. With constant improvement in new technology it is very secure with huge savings in transaction cost.

We may not have thought of it that way, but the money we are using today is both paper money and digital money. Most of us are already using digital money everyday. We all have been asked the question; “cash or charge”. When you are not using cash, you are using “digital money” Our banks, credit/debit card companies are just adjusting their digital ledgers by debiting what you spent and crediting what you deposited or paid. Digital currency works the same way by using a public ledger with digital wallets and addresses (accounts) for you to make your deposit and withdrawal.

I am a big fan of DNotes, a relatively new digital currency like Bitcoin. What is so interesting about DNotes is that they have carefully studied the strengths and weaknesses of Bitcoin. Their business model is to avoid the pitfalls or weaknesses of Bitcoin and exploit their strengths.

Bitcoin has been doing extremely well, with a market cap of around $5 billion. It has the potential to do significantly better and will likely continue to remain as the leader in this field for years to come. Their biggest problem is high volatility, or lack of stability due to many different factors that the creator has not anticipated.

By contrast, DNotes is the most stable digital currency among over 500 competitors in this space. It also has the most reliable appreciation for long term stakeholders. Its core mission is to build trust and integrity with dedicated efforts to encourage and assist the masses to participate in the emerging world of digital currency. DNotesVault is where stakeholders store away their savings and extra DNotes, at no cost. It is a secure web wallet with 100% guarantee matching fund.

With CryptoMoms, DNotesVault and a large family of CR.I.S.P.s (Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan) DNotes may already have some of the solutions confronting Bitcoin today. That being the case, with a current market cap of $500,000 verses Bitcoin market cap of $5 billion, CR.I.S.P. offers a good opportunity for many who are not in the position to save much, since DNotes has high potential returns.

No matter what I said, a lot of people I've talked to couldn't grasp cryptocurrency until I related it to what they already knew - credit and debit cards ("digital money").  I am emailing this Sample Presentation to a few people I know that have trouble explaining it to other people.  Thanks!

That does look like a pretty good way to approach it. The biggest fear I've come across when talking to people who haven't dealt with cryptocurrency is that they could just lose all their investment money. Like someone will steal it from them or they will lose it. Once the Dnotesvault is up, hopefully that will help.

I am delighted each day to wake p and find my trading DNOTES to be a breeze. Trying to accumulate bags without losing is an extremely difficult task in Crypto, but with Trading or MINING DNOTES One is never at a loss. I just noticed DNOTES in the top ten HOT COINS on C-CEX. I better get some btc over there to lap some up. I have been trading on POLONIEX AND ALLCOIN consistently so time to collect more DNOTES for the Vault.  Smiley. I am even encouraging those with 0 money to click as many btc and other faucets as possible and just convert that BTC to DNOTES and let it sit there for a year before even touching it.  Smiley.

DNOTES Blog post coming tonight..  Smiley

Thanks for your confidence and support. We are looking forward to your Blog tonight. Our intent is not to be self-serving, but still able to communicate with our stakeholders and potential investors as objectively and accurately as possible. It is not always easy without falling into the trap of being too boring, when contrasted with the high drama and ferocious attacks so common in our industry.

Personally, I am even more confident that our low key, flying under the radar, strategy while building a solid foundation of trust and integrity is a prudent and wise approach. We will remain conservative but highly focused in doing things that really matter, with the agility to response quickly and aggressively when appropriate.  It is apparent that our industry, as a whole, is often destructive, unproductive, constantly putting out fire, and not too interested to promote mutual benefits, beyond the supporters of their own coin.

We believe that DNotes will continue to be the most stable digital currency with reliable long-term appreciation, establishing new higher highs and higher lows. This is an extremely valuable characteristic of a stable currency with potential high returns over the long term. A reliable growth path in value appreciation reduces the risk of investment capital loss for long-term investors, making it an excellent candidate for investors adding to their DNotes investment on a regular basis. The concept of dollar averaging, in this case, will be extremely favorable.  This will make our CR.I.S.Ps immensely popular. Our ultimate goal is to make DNotes a choice candidate in any cryptocurrency investment portfolio in the future, making mass consumer and merchant adoption a reality.

Avoiding the hype, over promising, and under delivering will allow Dnotes slow and steady growth rather than sharp inclines and even steeper declines. I've said it before, but I'm glad I found you guys.

I really want to know more about C.R.IS.PS as people like me don't have much in savings or a pension plan so I want to read up more about it tonight. Also a friend of mine and fellow Team Player in QBK has opened a pool for mining DNOTES too..So I am mining there from today as well.  www.btcpool.club This is the pool maybe you can add it to your OP?  Smiley.

Thank you qiwoman! Added to the OP.

Yeap the pool is paying me nicely and consistently and the fees are low too. Also we are currently mining DNOTES as a store of value backing our coin as well.  Smiley Where can I find the C.R.I.S.P.S Info? I want to do another blog post for DNOTES and was telling a few more peeps about it today potential investors. One is also making an asset backed coin and I told him back it up with DNOTES lol and another was asking for a stable coin on POLO trollbox. I told him the most stable coin I have seen since I joined Crypto is DNOTES. No doubt about that. Now that I moved country and want to start accumulating some good coins again, DNOTES is my long time favorite for long term and as a pension - asset coin. For non good day traders especially DNOTES is the best investment by far.

Thanks for your confidence in DNotes. Coming from someone like you who have known and supported DNotes from day one is quite meaningful. Most of all, you are one of the nicest persons in our industry, trying to give many of our industry peers a fair chance to be successful. I respect that very much.

DNotes shares that philosophy in someway. We are committed to give as many people as possible a chance to share the success of DNotes, including many who are less fortunate financially. We have been working hard on CR.I.S.Ps. and DNotesVault with a plan to launch them early next month with a full press release. CR.I.S.P. for Kids has been tested on a small scale, and will be the first family of CR.I.S.Ps. to be officially announced. The following post is our 1st draft on CR.I.S.P. for Kids as it appears on DNotesVault.

WOW this is great news. My KID is now 19 a adult so is it too late for him? Thank you also for the news about C.RI.S.P.S ..and my mining continues.. I tell peeps about DNOTES in the trollbox on POLO too, strange that many haven't seen it's merits yet ..so always good to spread the word out. Also what will the Vault be about and what will it offer? I am interested in that too. Is it like a place we store the coins so they don't get spent?

CR.I.S.P. for Kids are for new born to age 20. Your 19 kid is qualified. Anyone can sign up for a DNotesVault account. Based on needs and interest level, we will focus our promotion and extra efforts on certain groups, such as students, retirement and charities.

DNotesVault, being feature rich with 100% fund security guarantee, will open many possibilities. For example, our community can easily start their own savings plans or their own family foundation with an option to release a specified amount to an address at predetermined intervals. A church or any organization can start a saving plan for their members, with individual accounts. Each member can pledge to donate certain amount and released over a period of time. The possibilities are endless. The following post (1st draft, subject to change) will give you a better idea on our mission statement.

WOW this is so cool. He will be 20 in next June so if I can open him an account before he is 20 will be awesome. Also the vault idea I think is brilliant, it is JUST what we need in the Crypto Industry..some solid coin that will last and be a currency, a savings plan and a hedge against inflation. I find DNOTES the easiest coin to trade and also I am halfway finished through my first personal mining cycle so looks like it is still very profitable to mine and save.

Looks good to me. I think the vault and crisps are a smart move for Dnotes.

What are the pros and cons of DNotes being included in a project such as Blocknet?

At this point, it is a little early to be conclusive since a lot of things are rather fluid. The industry has certainly started the consolidation phase. There are certainly advantages to join force with the right industry peers, at least in certainly areas, but there also significant risk of being associated with the wrong players and not able to get along. This industry has a higher tendency to be involved in a lot more unproductive conducts than I have ever witnessed in my long business career.

DNotes strategic path is to build a solid track record the first year and be a lot more aggressive with our growth path starting the second year. New technologies always evolve and get better over time. Apple Newton has taken over twenty years to be the smart phone as we know it today. I have been down that route. No matter how exciting the first generation of a new technology or concept may come across to be, there are always rooms for improvements. Let's say I will be keeping a very close watch on Blocknet and keep our options open. Please share your comments.

I like the path DNotes has chosen, steady, sustainable, and prepared to abide by the law. DNotes has a longer, and cleaner track record than any of the coins participating in Blocknet. We also have a very intelligent, mature community. It would be a shame to attract people who demand instant gratification, and take it out on the coin when they don't receive it.

The Blocknet IPO sounds interesting, but I will not be participating, as there is no cap to the amount of shares they can issue during the IPO. I may invest a very small amount in the future, depending mainly on price and total supply.

I agree 100% with this. DNotes will be successful by "staying the course" not forging into unknown areas and relationships. I'm afraid most of the coins joining SuperNet and BlockNet are doing so out of the mistaken belief that their value will skyrocket but, I don't see this happening. Some early adopters might profit but, in the long run, most will end up where they are already with no great gain to show for the effort.

Slow and steady wins the race...

I tend to agree here.

I've been looking into long term cryptocurrency investments. Long term because I'm not a day trader, nor do I want to try to follow the cryptocurrency industry to know what to invest in next. I've changed my mind on investing in XCurrency because it appears the price is driven by advancements in technology and for the price to appreciate, or possibly even sustain the price, they need to keep coming up with new technologies. It seems to be that way for most popular coins today, except for bitcoin and DNotes.

What is the deal with apple pay? what does it have that is beneficial in comparison to something like google chekout?

Quote from Shepherd:

Hi everyone. The DNotes team has been working hard on DNotesVault and our family of CR.I.S.Ps, so I may not have much time to participate in this forum the next few days. Chase, one of our core supporters, said it best “the DNotesVault and CR.I.S.P. combination is the single most significant step any coin has taken towards mass adoption". This will take DNotes very far.

We are also watching ApplePay and Google Wallet closely. The following article from Business News Daily offers the best answer to your question:

Apple Pay vs. Google Wallet: Which Is Better for Mobile Payments?

by Sara Angeles, BusinessNewsDaily Staff Writer   |   September 11, 2014 05:26pm ET

Apple Pay is finally here. After months of rumors, Apple confirmed this week that the iPhone will have near-field communication (NFC) functionality. Now, you and your customers can pay for in-store purchases using an iPhone, thus eliminating the need to carry around cash and credit cards. NFC is nothing new, but with Apple finally catching up to its competitors, many speculate that it could mean big things for the future of mobile payments. But how does Apple Pay compare to its closest mobile payments rival, Google Wallet? Read on to find out.

Checkout Apple Pay.
Apple Pay combines NFC technology and the iPhone's Touch ID fingerprint reader to speed up checkout. Simply hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on the Touch ID, and the phone will vibrate and beep when checkout is complete. There's no need to open any apps or even turn on your screen.[Apple Pay: Top 3 Features for Small Business Owners]

Google Wallet. Google Wallet also uses NFC technology and requires you to hold your phone near the contactless reader to finish checkout. Unlike Apple Pay, however, Google Wallet requires a couple of extra steps: You'll need to wake up your screen and, in some cases, enter a PIN to complete the purchase. [Plan on accepting Apple Pay or Google Wallet? You'll need a contactless reader from your point-of-sale (POS) system provider. For a side-by-side comparison of the best POS systems, visit our sister site Top Ten Reviews.]

Setup

Apple Pay. There are several ways to add credit and debit cards to Apple Pay, which are all stored in Passbook. The easiest way is to use the credit or debit card already associated with your iTunes account by entering the security code. To add a new card, you can either take a photo of the card or enter the information manually.

Google Wallet. To add a card to Google Wallet, you can either sign in to the Google Wallet website, use the Settings menu in the mobile app or log in through your bank's website.

What makes Apple Pay different?
Apple Pay, like other Apple products, is designed to work entirely within the Apple and iOS ecosystem. What ultimately makes Apple Pay different from Google Wallet is that it aims to be the central hub for all purchases that iPhone users make, spanning everything from offline to mobile purchases.

Apple Pay relies heavily on Passbook to store credit cards, which makes perfect sense, considering Passbook already stores your mobile payments and loyalty cards (along with coupons, tickets and boarding passes). If you use Google Wallet on your iPhone, you'll have to use the Google Wallet app, which requires extra steps and isn't streamlined with all your other payment data. In addition to in-store checkout, you can use Apple Pay to pay for in-app purchases, which you can't do with Google Wallet. Just choose "Apple Pay" during checkout and place your finger on Touch ID to complete the purchase.

What makes Google Wallet different?
Like Apple Pay, Google Wallet lets you pay for both online and offline purchases. What Apple Pay lacks, though, Google Wallet makes up for by offering even more ways to pay and send money online. Google Wallet payments aren't limited to major credit and debit cards. You can also use your Wallet Balance — the amount stored in your Google Wallet or Google Wallet Card, Google's MasterCard debit card — to pay for purchases. This feature is especially useful if you want to keep your personal credit and debit cards out of your smartphone.

Additionally, Google Wallet works seamlessly with Google Play, Drive, YouTube and other Google properties, as well as apps and mobile websites that already use the "Buy with Google" button. Unlike Apple Pay, Google Wallet also lets you send money to — or request money from — friends. All you need is the other person's email address, and money can be wired either by bank transfer or using your Wallet Balance.

Security concerns
Apple has taken many steps to make Apple Pay safe and secure, including the following:
•   Encryption: Credit and debit card numbers are never stored on devices, transferred or visible to anyone. Instead, Apple Pay assigns each credit and debit card with a unique, encrypted Device Account Number to process payments.
•   Private purchases: With the exception of recent purchases listed in Passbook, Apple itself doesn't store any of your purchase information or transactions.
•   Remote access: If you ever lose your device, you can disable or wipe your phone remotely with Find My iPhone.
Google Wallet also offers many security features, including the following:
•   24/7 fraud monitoring: With 100 percent fraud protection for unauthorized purchases made in the U.S., Google Wallet arguably offers a higher level of protection than Apple Pay.
•   Wallet PIN: Use a four-digit PIN to authorize purchases.
•   Remote lock: If your device is lost or stolen, you can remotely disable Google Wallet via your Google Wallet account.

Availability
Apple Pay will be available on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus beginning in October. The app works with major Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit and debit cards, and will be accepted at more than 220,000 stores. Participating banks include Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, Citi and Wells Fargo, with US Bank, PNC and other banks to follow.

Google Wallet is available on iOS 6.0+ and Android Gingerbread v2.3+ devices. Like Apple Pay, Google Wallet accepts all major credit cards and can be used at any establishment that uses contactless payments.

Originally published on Business News Daily.

I was against Apple Pay at first because I let myself fall victim to media bias, and didn't fully understand what implications the technology would have on the way we make payments. The media pitted it against Bitcoin, when in fact it is nothing like Bitcoin at all. NFC payments could be used to facilitate cryptocurrency transactions at Point Of Sale terminals, and it would make sense for Apple to do so because they would be substantially cut overhead cost in fees. Whether or not Apple Pay embraces cryptocurrency, NFC is a good thing for our industry. Like you said earlier; no matter how exciting the first generation of a new technology or concept may be, there will always be room for improvement.

Goes to show how little the world really understands cryptocurrency if even the media doesn't fully understand it. It seems like they are pitting it against bitcoin because of the word digital wallet. That's like comparing dollars to the debit card that you use to spend those dollars.
