Re: Bitcoin is simply too difficult to buy to gain acceptance
by

Since I've been under the weather and didn't feel like an hours motorcycle ride back and forth to the bitcoin atm, I tried to buy some online. Big mistake! After a selfie with an explanation of the purchase while holding my ID which was difficult to hold up living alone- although I did manage a clear pictures, then two pictures of my id with my payment card, the purchase was rejected by the exchange and I was told to use another card.

I told them to forget it, and I would like a selfie from the exchange's CEO holding a signed note wherein he promised to destroy all pictures and information I had provide them with.

Who wants to put up with such nonsense? The only reason I deal with the ATM is for online gambling, which our countries cause us to lose more money on since we have to pay extra USD to buy the bitcoin, and then lose a couple of points when it is deposited.

If it was easily available within 1% of spot, it might find adoption- like if you could buy it the way you buy anything else online, simply type in your cc number and four digits on the back. Btc is supposed to be anonymous and easy but it is neither.
Yeah me too, I use crypto for me to be able to play on a gaming site so that I can play many types of games to ease my boredom yet earning money. In addition, well we need time for global adoption to completely happen. We are slowly progressing, but we cannot demand for it to happen in no time, because this type of technology is not the type of technology that can be accepted in an instant. Stores need to upgrade themselves and how about those third world countries? Even developed countries are slowly adopting to it, what more to the poor countries? Be patient, that will happen.

Re: ‘Bitcoin Is Not Money’ Because We Cannot Print It – Banks

What a foolish argument! Does they even know that before paper money, people use everything that they think has value as a money? That it is only because of invention of paper money the reason why we are using it? Change is inevitable, they can't just accept that they are loosing their value because we now have a digital form of money that is why they hate it. They must accept the fact the now is the time for cryptocurrency. With their reasoning, so they are saying that online gaming on a reliable gaming site is just a child play when it is obviously wrong because me myself have earned there while easing my boredom? What a foolish argument it is.

It is a sad news indeed, but we cannot do anything about it. It seems that their mind is closed and they aren't open to cryptocurrencies. Well, just continue what we are doing, maybe someday they will realize the benefits and things that bitcoin can do for them. Maybe if we continue what we are doing, maybe they can adapt this technology. That they will soon think that it is inevitable to adapt this. That they will realize that it is the same in what they doing and the only difference is it is online. An example is trading. They obviously do trading physically, maybe one day they will soon realized that trading on an exchange site like Darb exchange ,it is the same on physical trading. That in physical trading, they can trade materials to other, just like trading on Darb where they can trade cryptocurrency that will allow them to earn money. Maybe someday they will see that.

I agree to some of your points but disagree to some like some of the disadvantages you have mentioned are actually an advantage to bitcoin like volatility. But yes, bitcoin is one of the best venture people have invested for the reason that you can even earn a lot money by just using your mobile phone. I am the living witness where I always trade to this exchange site called darb exchange. I always trade there and earn money because of it and I even use that as a payment system to my transactions.

I think you don't need to compare the three because they can coexist, like what is happening in the reality. Maybe one of the reason why bitcoin has many haters is that some compare them which we the first place we don't need to do. Let people know the importance of bitcoin. We don't need to pull others just to push bitcoin up. Let bitcoin's characteristics speak for itself. Yes we can use bitcoin as a form of investment, we can use it in mining, we can even use bitcoin in trading using exchanges like what I am using specifically darb exchange so that we can earn money by trading, we can even use it in online gambling. But, we don't need to tell these things. Let people see it for themselves.

Re: How will China's decision affect the market in your opinion?

Hey,
I read this article in a blog that i follow on china ICO ban https://fxpmarkets.blog/2017/09/05/central-bank-of-china-all-virtual-currency-offerings-must-be-stopped-immediately/
How do you think it will affect the market in the long term ?

Like playing in a fair gaming site, every asset you lose will affect your gameplay, even how small or big the asset is. China, we all know how big that country is and how enthusiastic businessmen there in cryptocurrency before, it will surely affect the market as a whole.

Re: How do you feel about control versus freedom in Bitcoin?
by
Bowly88
on 28/04/2019, 23:41:24 UTC
Take two.  Leaving the personalities out of it this time and focusing purely on the arguments.  I should also stress that leaving that one specific personality out of this topic means I would prefer they kept it civil too.  I want to hear opinions from the community about the following:

  • Do you think freedom is one of Bitcoin's most important qualities?  Or is it more important that we ensure everyone is happy and agrees with any changes?  If you had to choose, which takes priority?  Freedom?  Or ensuring everyone agrees?

  • Do you think "consensus" should always mean a hardfork at 95% agreement?  Even if that means that just 6% of the network can then effectively veto any changes and stagnate progress?  Or are softforks perfectly acceptable as well?  How do you feel about users who express the belief that softforks effectively turn them into second-class-citizens if they don't want to to upgrade?  Do they have cause to complain?  Or is the fact that they can remain on this blockchain and continue transacting as they always have done a sufficient compromise?  Is it right for some users to move forward with a change if others haven't given their permission for that change?  Does this weaken or bypass consensus?

  • Is it wrong or immoral to create code that causes a client to disconnect another client from the network if the features they propose are not compatible?  Should users be allowed to disconnect incompatible clients if they want to?  Or is this a way to cheat consensus and deprive the users running that client of the chance to express their support for a change in the rules?  And, in this morality judgement, should we consider whether replay protection is included in the the client being disconnected if that means users can be safeguarded from replay attacks?

  • If you run a full node, are you fully aware of what rules it enforces?  Do you keep up to date with the latest changes?  Do you compile the code yourself so you know exactly what is going on?  Or do you blindly update your node without checking what the code actually does?

  • Most important of all, does anyone genuinely believe Core are "in control" of the Bitcoin network?  Or do you think those securing the chain (both non-mining full nodes and miners) are ultimately the ones who make the decisions?  Do you think some developers have too much influence?  Should there be a larger number of dev teams?  Does Bitcoin have a level playing field?

While I'm curious on all these points, I'm not honestly expecting answers to every single last one of them.  Just express what you feel confident about.
Obviously, bitcoin biggest asset is its freedom. You cannot please everyone, take that into your head. Going back, freedom is the biggest asset if bitcoin because it let its users to use it in everything they want. You can use it to buy your needs. You can also use it investment like in hodl. You can even use it for you to be able to play on fair  gaming sites  that everyone does for them to have enjoyment and to remove boredom. You can use it to almost everything, unlike the fiat money that it's like you have always been tracker to all of your transactions.

Re: Bitcoin = Nerd money or not?
by
Bowly88
on 22/04/2019, 21:34:59 UTC
I don't think that we can be called or labeled as a nerd because the definition of being a nerd does not suit as all. It means that it depends on the person. Me myself, even though I am computer literate, even though I know mining, even though I know that I can join bounty campaigns so that I can earn money, even though I know the best exchange that allows me to trade multiple times at fast speeds, even though I know hodl and I don't sell bitcoin out of nowhere because I look at the statistics, it is still far for me to be labeled as a nerd. A nerd is someone who doesn't have a social life and it doesn't suits me. I am not a unattractive or unstylish either.

Re: Meet the Wealthiest People in Crypto

We really aren't sure if these people are the results are really the wealthiest people in cryptocurrency. They likely not to reveal their identity which is what crypto wants, an anonymous life.
I agree, it is very unlikely for these people to reveal themselves so that they can live freely without worries. Even in the real life, we really aren't sure if the people they posted the richest are really the richest because they obviously hide their wealth.
Yes, and if it happen to me, I would do the same thing, I wouldn't reveal myself. But well, I am not that rich yet, gonna start trading using the best exchange  I have know and will do my best to earn money. Gonna do it all.

You're right. The problem with bounty campaign is that there is a possibility that the bounty you are joining is a scam and it happens to me. That is why I try to analyze if the bounty is a legit one but sometimes, you cannot really predict it, that is why I also do short trading. Even though it is not that profitable compare to long trading, at least I am earning.
This same scam also happens to me too
Now I am very careful about every single thing it's really hurt when you are doing everything sincerely and it gone on the happen of scam or spam
That's right. It really breaks my heart knowing that there are these kind of person who do these scams for the sake of their personal interest. Try trading though just like what I have also done. Find the best site which has a good speed and no currency risk, learn trading, study it. Make sure that you understand it well before you start so that you wouldn't make mistake. It is so that you wouldn't really much on bounties alone and have another source of income.

Well, they see it as a competitor, so they hate it. Everyone hates their competitors, and will say everything against them so they will win. Sad thing. Those few that will cooperate and adapt to it will be the one that will shine the brightest.
I agree. The most successful businesses are those who aren't scare of the advancements that happens. Example are facebook, google, and etc and it is obvious how they still at the top of the world even though they have many competitors. Adaptations.
Agree. Me myself is the living testament of this. Before I always depend on my parents. It is a pain in the eye to me seeing us living in a poor life. I am a student and I consider doing sideline jobs, and my classmates introduce me to bitcoin. So I join bounties to earn money and I earn. I have help my parents and my family because of it, but there's a problem, after that rise in December bounty campaigns for now is not that profitable. I adapt to this situation by trying to do other things not just bounties. Thankfully, I have been introduced to trading. I study it, find the best site or should I say perfect companion in trading and when I say perfect companion I meant that the site has very fast speeds and no currency risks. Then there you go! I have found the solution to my problem and it is trading, I have adapt to changes everything even though I am afraid at first. Same goes with banks. They shouldn't be afraid to these advancements and they could actually adapt it like what other banks have done. They don't need to tell bad things to it and instead they can cooperate with it.

That's the common misconception those people outside have. Just because of the rise of bitcoin in December 2017, they taught that this is the easiest and fastest way of earning but it's not and it is like the other way if earning money which needs everything.

If the opinion of Robert Schiller is seriously taken into account by investors from around the world, it is simply because he was the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2013. But when it comes to talking about Bitcoin, man does not chew his words. He is not seized by the craze that surrounds crypto-currencies for several months now.
Mr Schiller believes that Bitcoin is a speculative bubble that will end up exploding, even if in itself this virtual currency should not disappear.
let those people say bitcoin is a bubble but we cant deny bitcoin's blockchain will be the future let's see in the future if they can still call it "bubble".

Yeah, some users talking nonsense because of the bitcoin fall down. I wonder what will happen if the bitcoin rise again. I think they'll regret it.

One can not say with full confidence that most crypto currencies will collapse to zero, as today more and more teams that create new crypto-currencies take on the staff of professionals who make a good idea a successful project.

i dont think so it depends on how they will work it out.

There is a lack of decentralized exchanges. It would make sense to have much more of them because of the nature of bitcoin and crypto.

I can clearly see that there are other cryptocurrencies that are beginning to dethrone bitcoin, showing off there quick and secured transactions, though bitcoin continues to be the king. What does bitcoin need to improve state your opinions.

I think there is nothing to fix with bitcoin, because bitcoin is very good, but only one is possible for us with the problem of delivery that sometimes, long to wait until 6 confirmation ...

ONE WORD. SECURITY! fake news are spreading that bitcoin is being manipulated or being hacked by the scammers. a highly secured bitcoin community is need to improve.
